I love the way you name 24 players there and can do so without including "I won't leave a penny behind" chap Shows how far he has fallen
Did he really say that? The reports that I read had the quote as being from our former CEO, now his agent.
It could be that he is taking a different approach to some of our other 'want away' players. He may want to get himself a move by showing on the pitch how good he is. Given the little time left in this window that COULD mean that we have him till January.
Sunderland ‘preparing a bid’ for League Two midfielder ahead of deadline day Reports in the media claim that Sunderland are keen on signing Tranmere Rovers midfielder Oliver Nornburn, and are preparing a bid for the 25-year old ahead of the transfer deadline on thursday.
When my son was playing U9, his trainer said that he once played for the Tramere Rovers. Now he [the trainer] is married to a yank lass, selling medical supplies for her father.
Post 574 on this thread. The player we are linked with plays for Tranmere - as reported by your good self
Doh! my apologies mate Thought you were talking about some foreign club, but the penny has dropped, you were talking about Tranmere Rovers
A new name on the rumour mill, Greg Docherty from Rangers..... JACK ROSS still wants to add to his Sunderland squad before Thursday’s transfer deadline, with another midfield recruit in sight. The new boss has already made 11 summer signings, six of whom made their debut in Saturday’s opening day victory over Charlton at the Stadium of Light. And he’s keen on two midfielders – Tranmere’s Oliver Norwood and Glasgow Rangers’ Greg Docherty. Shrewsbury are also interested in both players. The Shrews are to lose midfielder Jon Nolan and centre-half Toto Nsiala, a summer target for Ross, to Ipswich in a combined deal valued at around £2m. And there should also be movement out of the Stadium of Light this week. Lee Cattermole was omitted from the squad at the weekend, and he has little future at the club. Centre-half Papy Djilobodji is another the club want to move on. Besiktas are interested in the centre-half, who signed last summer from Chelsea, but has looked far from the £8m player he is supposed to be. A season-long loan to Turkey is a possibility. Newly-appointed captain George Honeyman feels the weekend’s win over Charlton could be the start of a Wearside revival. The Ross era started with a win, and the Scot takes his side to Luton at the weekend. Honeyman, a product of the club’s Academy, was named skipper last week and admitted: “It gave us something to build on, something to go for next week too at Luton. “The club has had a fresh start from top to bottom and the positivity around the place before the game was massive. We wanted to give something back to supporters after back to back relegations and it’s amazing to have so many fans behind us. “It can snowball and if we keep winning it will get better. “I didn’t get much sleep on Friday night, bouncing off the walls and had to calm myself down to keep my energy for on the pitch. “I want to be there at the end of the season celebrating. There’s a long way to go. “It was a lot of new lads playing together and we have to get used to each other. We got better and were far the better team second half. “It’s only one game in, it’s only going to get better.’’
Does anyone think we still need another striker, or are Maja, Sinclair, the Bradford lad, and Watmore sufficient?
