meh. it's the only premier league game were common assault.is still permitted. no other derby is refereed the same way. not arsneal spurs. not city Utd. in effect lfc are a footballing side and have to then see technical players kicked about in a free for all cos refs want to keep 11 on the pitch. when Everton finally come to play football then it'll be a far better game and Everton might actually win!
T Thats fair enough but hopefully cups maybe ? I have always wondered if Europa hinders teams trying to break into the top 4. Would you guys want to get into Europa whilst trying to crack top four.
IMO Europa doesn't hinder until February and then it just becomes a huge drain. 6 group games.. 3 away games to prepare around. If the squad is there you can manage this. It does distract coaches though. But then round of 32 means that you in effect end up with no time off and games after games when CL teams play their last 16 over a 3 week period (week off in middle) This is why spurs (IMO) deliberately threw that comp 2 or 3 times. Once the pool money is secured they have not been interested.
That's a bit cheeky mate considering you don't live here. The city's alive and kicking. The northern dock area needs developing and the new stadium will start that off but the city's not falling down, new stadium or not.
Don’t think it’s cheeky at all wishing well on the city a large chunk of my family are from, where I went to uni based on the fact it was in Liverpool. I could say it’s narrow minded of you to think that way Puts you right in the calling everyone plastic brigade that comment. On that basis you could argue every fan who doesn’t reside in Liverpool should not goto games. Mindless comment that on your part and surprised at you saint. You know nothing of my life and yet you make a comment like that!
You may be right, who knows. Russian 'dirty money' is leaving the UK from several quarters over poor UK - Russian relations. He may be taking his money and running. He may not. Good news for you if he invests in Everton - as long as he doesn't mess up our city in any way while doing it
But you weren't 'wishing well on the city' were you? Quite the opposite imo. You said you want to see the city 'be alive again' - that's damn cheeky mate. What are you basing the city not being alive on? As for what you've just said here ... I don't care where fans live, in fact I pride our club on having fans everywhere. I'm not one of those people who think you're somehow a better fan if you live in the city of the team you support, that's nonsense. I think if you don't live in Liverpool, it's an insult to say the city needs bringing to life - it doesn't - and that comment has nothing to do with you not living in Liverpool in terms of which team you support. If you support Liverpool I don't care where you live ... but I object to you saying my city needs bringing to life, that's all.
You misread into what I was talking about I meant the city being alive over the derby And if you think the recent derbies have been a shining light you are entitled to think that but the recent derbies have not had the importance. The Euro nights Atmos is what I mean by alive. Recent derbies just not been the same. Watched a number of games in Aigburth with my mates and I can tell you as a mere outsider (you wouldn’t understand being a local an’ all) - the city comes alive on euro nights - it feels different Not so much on the derbies - whereas when I used to goto to relatives when younger derby day the city was electric. imho that’s all Don’t know what you are on about with the city being alive as normal cause as you say I don’t reside there - although I am down in the city and surrounding sports centres a lot. I apologise if it came across in any other way. But I have reread my posts and I think it’s obvious I was talking about Liverpool v Everton. But it happens regularly that only I know what I mean so... I also still wish the best for the city despite not living there also And always will
Apologies if I misread your comment. Just to reiterate I don't care where you live. If you think a new stadium will bring the city back to life [in whatever way you actually meant that] then good for you. I don't. A new stadium will improve the area, better football will improve the derby. All the LFC fans I know are buzzing on derby day
No offence meant on my part, mate. I "liked" the comment simply because jb said that the city is vibrant enough regardless of Everton's stadium build. Maybe I should have kept out of it.
Think I should too I don’t want to fall out with anyone I know where I have over reacted and I Am sorry. A button was pressed and I took it badly
Sorry JB I over react when a certain button is pressed - not revealing which as I will leave myself wide open to serious wummery That said it probably easy to work it out. I stepping back now as I do not wish to make this worse and I respect your views plus I am an ineloquent moron
