Bearing in mind that the big lump that is Andy Carroll left us in January and it is now September (nearly), why on earth is there no new striker in to replace him yet? Yes Ba has come in but he looks more than a tad iffy and injury prone. I actually think we'll do OK this season but with a top class striker we'd be pushing for 6th I feel. Don't understand why it wouldn't make business sense for Fat Ashley to splash out on 1 striker to help improve the club. Cabaye looks class, Obertan promising, Santon too but useless if there's no one to put it in the net. Was basically wondering whether someone could give me a reason (other than Ashley is tight) that we don't have at least someone coming in?

MA is waiting until there's enough interest been earned from the Carroll money to invest it in a new striker and he can hold on to the £35m.

I presume it would be foolish to mention Ba at this point

Admittedly I too am frustrated at the lack of reinforcements. Oh well, not like we're doing too badly is it?

Yeah we should have been down the "reasonably cheap but still scores loads of goals" shop ages ago.

Would I be out of order to point out Ba has a better goals to games ratio than Mandy in the Premier League?

Mentioned him before: Injury prone, looks out of sorts (better against Fulham, yes) but hardly going to set the world on fire. We need a fast, technical and natural finisher not another big strong lad up front as we already have now Ba, Best, Ameobi, etc who can do that. Lovely Hands is just pish. We're not doing too badly but come mid-Nov when the injuries mount we can't really be expecting Sammi, Ranger, etc to step in against Man Ure, City, etc. Failing anything else we should have made a move for Trezeguet.

Though to be honest I reckon we should go in for Gary Hooper, so I guess that's not any better...

Well we did bring Ba in..but because he's not preformed while he's pretty much starving himself people forget about that one..

Not been injured for us & if you hadn't eaten during daylight hours for the last month you'd probably be out of sorts, give Ba a chance, his goalscoring record is shed loads better than a lot of strikers mentioned in connection with us.

I think Roux could be interesting. May be arriving if we want him.

The transfer window hasn't even closed yet you ****ing muppet <doh>

Jesus christ. They're still working on deals! Many clubs do on the final day. How the hell can you whinge about Ashley not signing anyone before the window has even shut?

I see Demba Ba has been written off already. Once he gets match sharp can see him hitting double figures this season.

  20. Why can't we just go for Sturridge? Young striker, wants first team football, bolt load of potential and will score goals.

    He's easily worth 20-25m
