18 isn't that much though isit, some people would drink that much in mixer with vodka... Saying that it depends on the time scale I suppose
Yeah the amount of people I have seen who would knock back jager bombs for fun whilst taking copious amounts of other stuff and still survived to tell the tale, can't see 18 being THAT bad.
jaeger bombs don't actually have that much red bull in it though does it? like maybe a third/half of a can? be like 36 -> 48 jaegers
True but I remember doing "jager trains" where you would do 10-15 one after another. So probably about 6 cans of red bull inside 2 minutes. Some people would then be so bollocksed they would have to go and do a Tony Montana impression in the toilet to sober themselves up.
Or 10-15 jager bombs and 12 double vodkas? Roughly... definitely doable. Reckon that would be relatively easy if you like energy drink and vodka. Presumably we're talking the small cans here Jasper?
The U.K.’s relationship with alcohol is a bit weird when you step back from it. Something good happens, we ‘celebrate’ with ale, something **** happens, we commiserate ourselves with ale. The sun comes out we think it needs ale. We go the match, defo needs ale. Birthdays, we get pissed. Weddings we get pissed, funerals we get pissed. We’ve even decided Paddy’s day is a cracking excuse to get ****ered I gave up the habitual glass of wine when you get in from work routine a couple of years back, and stopped drinking during the week at all. Then I did sober October last year, and I realised I just don’t really miss it, so I’ve rarely bothered since. If I have a drink, it’s a drink, not several.
Yeah it's strange how it's so engrained in our culture. Ideally I would like to be able to do what you do but we'll see what happens. The struggle for me is the lifestyle change as much as anything.
My new favourite by (fairly local to me) Palmetto Brewery is Ginger Slap, a Ginger and Cardomon (misspelt and don't care) infused red ale. I'm not normally a fan of flavoured beer but this is a good quality beer and I love Ginger and cardomon.
So in order to help someone stay on the wagon, we're all going to discuss our favourite new beers? Sounds about right!
I did mention it in the op I'm not one of those who tries to avoid things either, never get anywhere like that imo. I find it better to put myself around it so you get used to not doing it while others do quickly.
I was replying while on the first page before it all got serious. . That's the problem when I don't visit this forum often.. I get left behind I've actually never been a very heavy drinker. I frequently go a few months without one... Then I'll go a few months having 4 or 5 a week (which is heavy for me). I'd much rather something like Port, or whisky, or Irish Cream, Kahlua or other liqour to beer though. Don't like lager at all... If it's beer at least make it a proper ale...
It’s Monday and no alcoholic beverage has touched my lips. Looking forward to Friday already. Chinese takeaway and beers are on the menu.
