I saw him on sky sports and he said that the clubs are miles apart and that villa are hopeful of keeping him. I think unless it’s a club record fee then Villa won’t sell. I’d rather see money like that spent elsewhere (central midfield) on someone who can make an immediate impact.
I'm not sure of the Villa plan here, to be honest. Maybe they're thinking that they can't generate £50m for FFP unless they sell Grealish for silly money, so they may as well keep him?
How is it that some players respond to whispers of interest from another club by submitting a transfer request, yet the ones we're after never seem to do so? We've all seen headlines and/or reports saying that Grealish wants to join us, yet rather than speed up the process by handing in a transfer request he's twiddling his thumbs while Villa's owners peacock about just like Jeremy Peace thought was wise a few years ago.
He might not be in a massive hurry to leave or he might want to keep some sort of loyalty bonus. He's also been at Villa since he was six, so he'd probably prefer to leave without burning any bridges or pissing off the fans.
In some way I respect that. If he tries forcing through a move it says a lot about his character, by biding his time and hoping for a move it shows he’s got respect for his current employers. Plus I think part of him may still wanna stay as he’s Villa through and through but ultimately knows a move to the Prem is what his career needs if he wants to progress.
Just 71 more hours of this torture. I actually can’t wait until the window is closed. It’s the hope that kills you!
my main worry about him is that he is a dick...his behaviour at the moment is actually making me think he aint as dickish as he used to be
At least Rondon isn’t an option anymore. I was worried he would turn out to be a panic but. Tbh I’d rather keep Janssen and Llorente as backup than him.
Don't think he'd have been too bad an option to be honest, although in recent weeks I've moved on from the idea of wanting/ needing a back up striker. They just don't work, Kane is so consistent and physically fit they rarely get a chance to make an impact. I'd much rather we just use that false 9 formation we did when Kane got injured against Bournemouth, in the time he was off the pitch from then until the Chelsea game, we'd hit ten goals in his absence, the attacking mids all seemed to enjoy sharing the goal burden, we're lucky in that sense to have such great attacking mids in Dele, Son, Eriksen, Lamela and now Lucas, probably the strongest area in our squad.
I don’t think he’s any better than Janssen or Llorente. It’s a tough role to play which is why Martial would suit us as he can play multiple positions.
Yeah maybe but I can’t see Martial leaving Utd’s bench for ours. He’d be Son’s understudy if he joined, just like he’s Sanchez’s one at the moment.
Sky Sports' muezzin are telling the masses that it's Harry Maguire they're after I'm sure they'll mention how they could have signed him for £12m a year ago...
I'm not so sure about that. Given enough starts, I could see him being as good, if not better than Son.
