Looks good that mate. I keep threatening to get a Kayak for the flat days down here. Might wait until the little un is a couple of years older and get a Canadian Canoe instead.

We are in South-West France ... in a small village in the midi-pyrenees ... 900 mile drive from home ... stayed in Laval on Thursday night then Beulieu- sur-Dordogne on Friday (both 5 hour drives) ... then about 2 hours to get here yesterday but all forests and mountains (no motorways) ... beautiful region of France - nearest large town is probably Cordes-sur-Ciel ... very very hot ... property we are in is owned by the missus aunt, 4 bed farmhouse barn conversion with swimming pool ... just us here ... middle of nowhere ... pretty amazing views ... might even post some pics when I get back ( no idea how to do it from my phone) <laugh>

Just finished my book. Very good read, would recommend it to anyone; The Force by Don Winslow.

**** knows what to read now. I've got Keane's biog, which I realised I'd never got round to reading, and The Black Dahlia by James Ellroy.

Anyway, having a cold Kronenburg for now. A few in fact. Many.

I'm definitely going to go through Winslow's back catalogue.

His Mexican Cartel ones are stunningly brilliant (Power of the Dog & The Cartel) and the one i just read is his latest.

There's about half a dozen to go back to. I just like the blokes style and subjects.

On books ... reading something I read as a teenager and really enjoying it ... Julian May (actually a bird) ... Saga Of The Exiles ... 4 books initially ... first one is The Many Coloured Land ... pure escapism but actually brilliant in terms of her imagination ... surprised it's not been made into a Hollywood blockbuster given the advent of CGI ... suspect it will ...<cheers>

My Mrs has been shopping this morning for holiday stuff... ffs.

I'm going to get home to mountains of bags in my hallway full of things I don't need and haven't asked for and things that she's bought 'Just in case'.

I get pissed off when she tries to pack for me. 1 small case with just essentials will do.
