If I were to start up my own brewing business now I would be trying to catch up as there are two English people in the area with well established breweries going. One took over the old clog makers buildings and produces under the Sabot label, with a range of different English style beer bottles. The other one produces mini-kegs of bitter, that are very good indeed, genuine real ale. My favourite however is not available here as it come from a micro-brewery on Corsica. It is a dark ale that I first came across on a beach bar there. What gives it a unique flavour is the chestnuts that are in it. There is always a smile of appreciation when I am on the island and ask for some.

Morning all, another very hot day in store with the temperature expected to hit 36°C this afternoon. Still there is hope on the horizon with a dramatic change by Wednesday. Storms forecast for tomorrow night, followed by light rain, or stormy heavy rain depending on which forecast you read, and a 10°C drop in temperature.
There was a video yesterday on a French news website showing the Macrons giving a guided tour to the Mays around the Presidential holiday retreat. There was no sound, just pictures of the PM pulling back curtains to see the views over the Med. It was rather like watching 'Escape to the Country', and I am sure if there been sound we would have heard the PM saying she wanted it if the budget could be stretched to it. :emoticon-0142-happy

Philip May could afford to buy the Chateau and the village that goes with it, small change.

He could only afford to buy it if it were for sale, which it isn't. Unfortunately there are many people around in our World today who think that everything has it's price, and it is they who are driving our World over the precipice.

    Morning, Dave; morning, all. :)

Just finished building Matej a new bed with desk underneath last night. It’s taken ages with the heat. How professional carpenters cope working full days in this heat, I don’t know. Anyway, Matej now feels Top of the World...

Morning all. Woken by an oil delivery lorry bringing a supply for Bernard's central heating system. His tank, which is very large, needs filling three times a year as the boiler is an industrial type model. Each delivery costs over €1000, probably quite a lot more at present, and when I see him he goes through the motions of drawing his hand across his throat, and telling me he will be eating grass. The trouble now is that there is no grass to turn into a nice meal. Already the temperature is close on 30°C, but the forecast suggests we could see a light shower or two this afternoon. Meanwhile I need some bread this morning, and the car has to be serviced this afternoon. Just maybe the temperature will drop to better levels. :emoticon-0100-smile

The military probably has deep connections with the Narcos anyway.

Back from our hols, went further south than expected and saw a lot of the mountainous jungles in Chiapas and the coast in Oaxaca. Tip top time. Back to work tomorrow, grim!

    Hope you are all well.

Glad you had a good time Mex. <ok>

I think most of us, scattered around as we are, have suffered a bit from heat, Not sure thinking about it that it applies to NZ. :emoticon-0107-sweat
