That CM has only been a requirement based on last season, we were never in any trouble beforehand as Dembele was dominating opposition midfielders with ease while Dier/ Wanyama mopped up from the back.

    For the marquee signing?

    Not at all <laugh>

We will lose Toby and will we get Martial? I doubt it.

One thing is obvious..there's no war chest because we arent signing until we sell Toby if indeed we are signing.

Steve Bruce was even taking the piss regarding Levy's offer for Grealish.

Going to have to be one of the most memorable weeks in our transfer history if we are going to provide Poch with 1 or 2 first team starters. That's what we need ain't it? To get go the next level for which I believe the time is now...not in 3 years time considering how football works

One of the supposed reasons we ain’t bought yet isn’t because of money but due to squad places and HG quota. We’ve apparently struggled selling deadwood (Janssen, GK, Sissoko etc) and so the club doesn’t wanna have more than the allocated 25-man squad space which would mean players picking up cheques without kicking a ball.

Think a lot of **** is gonna go down over the next few days though. Reckon we’ll have a fire sale and probably accept lowball offers (I know, un-Levy-like) so that we can just get rid and then beef up.

Still reckon three will come in before the window shuts.

How are we going to sell then beef up in the space of the next 5 days? Takes me longer on FIFA.

For me it's a **** reason to be hindering this team. If we have the money...spend it...re coup over the course of the next few Windows....that works if we have the money for spending allocated. Stop hindering the team's preparations for the season KO...we suffer for our slow starts when the points are totted up at the business end.

Suppose you have to have your football head on to take that risk and not your business head.

We ain’t in a position to be wasting money though. Having three or four players not even registered and earning dough is literally burning cash. The club can’t afford that when they’re also paying for a new stadium, we ain’t City/ Chelsea/ Utd. Whether fans like it or not, we need to appreciate the club has to be financially responsible.

Players will leave in the next few days, even if it’s on loan intially, then we should see some incomings. Things always accelerate in the final days of the window.

If Spurs had made a bid for anyone then it would be public knowledge in this day and age. It would benefit the club for it to be public anyway to show fans they are actually trying.

I understand that too...then it's extremely poor running of the club. Who's lucky enough to get rid of their deadwood in a week? Especially at inflated asking prices. Levy wants to burn his candle at both ends and the team is the one that suffers. Should have cleared the deadwood since January at affordable prices for the buyers instead of always looking to pull everyone's pants down. That would have freed up the wages. Then we could have used this mysterious war chest without worrying about breaking even with wages going into the last week of an already reduced transfer window. I thought the Poch/Levy team was forward thinking.

For me it's Levy sitting on his laurels expecting Poch and the young established stars of the team to pull us through...not to the winning line but I believe top 4 kerching. This team as it stands is probably quite capable of doing that but that's supposed to be the beginning not the happy medium between fans dreams and a chairmans balance sheet

I may be wrong come Friday...i still harbour hope but I'm getting miffed as the days pass.

That’s the thing, I think Levy will realise he can’t expect extortionate prices for our **** players now, so I think he’ll just accept whatever’s offered (within reason) as he knows strengthening is needed. Selling them should be easy if we set reasonable prices or at the very worst loaning them will be even easier.

I could also be wrong but I just think this is gonna be a crazy week.

Levy and Poch want us to be the new Arsenal imo.

Priority is making profit off the pitch and winning trophies is an afterthought.

Sure as hell feels like that to me due to the casual approach in strengthening our first team. People say it's hard to strengthen a team in our position with them being on the cusp of winning something...we were nearly men again so there is obviously room for improvements. I'd throw all our money on a World Class midfielder, we have a healthy wage ceiling now. Do we even need a winger over a CM as a priority? I'd appreciate the menace Zaha would bring to our first team but isn't Moura virtually a new signing for us? Why did we buy him if it isn't his job to put serious pressure on the attacking 3? I'm sick of buying players what to me seem like zero thought has gone into the signing or some balancing the quota exercise... Njie then George <doh> Son can play upfront...aswell as any replacement if he's got his head on.

For me this team needs a World class or thereabouts CM to pull some forward thinking strings and shots on goal. We love Moussa but he's had it and tbh he's never been as direct as I wished a CM to be that isn't a DM. Not enough shots on goal or assists..his positive qualities are appreciated but we should be having a CM who can do both. There's a few in Italy and Spain.

    In: Grealish

Out: Toby, Janssen (loan) GKN (loan)

There’s just not enough time now for multiple deals in and out.

I see Bournmouth have just spent £25M on a midfielder, so expect the hacks to put 2+2 together and make 3, 4 or even 5 and say Lewis Cook will be heading in our direction.

There is no example in history of a football club being extremely profitable while unsuccessful. Levy is trying to take us from the utter dross he inherited to one of the top ten clubs in the world. This is a long term plan. There are no shortcuts.
