We'd all seen how Sissoko played for Newcastle. Their supporters couldn't believe their luck. Many of them ended up in hospital from laughing so hard!

 

All of Newcastle played poorly, it's why they were relegated. Pool still spent £25m on Wijnaldum and we paid £30m for Sissoko. They were the best of a bad bunch, we obviously hoped that Sissoko could raise his game for us like he did for France. Unfortunately he didn't, you win some you lose some. IF Sissoko played for us like he did for France in that tournament, £30m would've been a bargain. It was risk that didn't pay off. He's not actually a terrible squad player to have but he should be nowhere near the XI in big games that's for sure.
