Crouch again, BPF done enough though. Will be interesting to see his form whilst blackman gets fit. Could be a right battle for the number one spot
Wow, awesome start... 1) Why didn’t someone hand BPF a cap? 2) Hernandez surpassed my expectations, kept going till the end, super fit. 3) Roofe won’t get us the goals but his movement and pressing was outstanding 4) No more rolling around and fake card waving Don’t want to get carried away but that really was the best I’ve seen us play for a long long time.
Bielsabub must be an actual magician. The team that started this game was pretty much last seasons players and comments from BBC suggest they were on fire. I will be the first to admit I was not expecting this performance let alone result in a million years He hasn't even used the new players yet I really hope this is a sign of what is to come
Can’t see Bamford getting on to be honest with you, Roofe might not have scored but his performace was crucial. Harrison for Alioski might be one change not too far away, feel I’m just trying to single out where one of the new signings might get in, Alioski wasn’t poor mind you.
Painful but sky saying it’s first ever post match interview he has ever agreed to and he insists on replying in English. Send the players out picking up litter every day if this is the result
Bet Paul Heckingbottom feels a uncomfortable sitting there... Interviewer/commentary team “This is virtually the same group of players that finished last season” When trying to dissect the improvement... Edit Apologies Wasper was typing this as you had posted
Are you ready for Doc to come back and tell us I told you so over Klich? Doc if you’re reading this I’m sorry, Klich was superb today
We won by two goals and it was great.there is a lot more to come if you look at todays bench.maybe some others will join at some stage of the season.six one would not have been a fantasy today.if we had been playing rotherham it would have been.
He will come in. We need a strong squad for injuries, loss of form, tiredness, mental tiredness, alternative options etc
Been on indefinite hiatus for a while now, partially through work/private life, and partly because Leeds were frankly depressing me last season (and for the majority of the seasons prior to that!), but having just got back from the game, I had to log on just to say wow - we really were terrific out there today. I can't remember the last time I saw us play so well or look so fit. I knew Bielsa was a very talented coach, but what he's achieved with virtually the same players he inherited is just incredible. I shouldn't get too excited, because it is Leeds and I'm sure we'll find a way to depress me again, but it's hard not to get swept up in the optimism after a performance like that. The pressing and the tactical intelligence was outstanding - Phillips in particular looked like he'd played that auxiliary third CB position his whole life. Roofe was a constant menace, and the way he defended from the front set the tone - Bamford has a job on his hands getting into the team. Hernandez and Saiz looked fit, hungry, and had the quality to match. Despite being an Alioski fan, the way he faded and came in and out of games last year made me wonder if he'd still be around this season - he was fantastic today. Superb energy, decent quality, and good tactical awareness. Very happy for Klich, too. He was definitely treated unfairly last year, but I'm glad he's been given a chance because he's clearly a very talented player. Douglas is essentially Ayling with a better quality of delivery (which is Ayling's only real downfall, for me), and both were fantastic. Shame Douglas gave away the penalty, but his assists were terrific and his quality is just superb. Berardi and Cooper looked strong at CB, but not infallible. Knowing we still have Jansson to come in (plus a CB is supposedly still on the wish list!) is a big boost. Peacock-Farrell made a couple of good saves, too. All in all, a superb performance. Can we maintain that level of energy and pressing over 46 games? Who knows! It looks like being a very interesting season, though. And the best bit? Blackman, Jansson, Forshaw, and Bamford (virtually the spine of the team!) are still to come in.
