1255: In Nottingham, Forest fans will be deeply concerned by a distinct lack of news but there is more excitement for the Notts Countyhalf, as BBC Radio Nottingham understands a striker is likely to be joining the Magpies later today.

Would people prefer the likes of Sturridge, Balotelli or Gignac on loan? Or a player who isn't as good on a permanent deal?

I know Ashley and Llambias like to keep things quiet when dealing with transfers, but this is ridiculous .. QPR are getting more nonsense airtime than NUFC which is criminal .. we should at least be getting a few made up stories to heighten the anxiety ...

Is no one down at SJP monitoring the taxis coming and going like we usually have?

I'm busy. Just back from the nearest pig farm.

Vossen has left the couch! I repeat: He HAS left THE COUCH! He is NOT in a seated position anymore.

Expect him to get into a car very soon! I've programmed his sat nav to take him to Brussels airport.

Bit far away to do that but I will wait outside Ipswich's stadium and see if I can see Jimmy Bullard getting into a limo ready to take a ride up to St James Park to sign his 5 year deal.

Hope QPR sign him. With Barton, Bellamy and Dyer expect some fights.

    Mandy Carroll?!

Would love to get Sturridge on loan, but at this point I'd be glad to get anyone half decent, seeing as Loven is ****e and Best runs hot and cold.

We definitely need a skillfull/poacher type striker, not a target man, we've got too many of them, and the 'hoof it towards them' playstyle doesn't suit our midfield.

Anyone else a little frustrated by our transfer policy? N'Gog goes to Bolton for £4m, while we pursue Maiga who's not as good, older and with a **** attitude for more than twice as much. We're so fixated on the French league, almost to the exclusion of all others, that we're missing some tidy signings. And Ligue 1 would be one of the last places I'd look for a striker, the defending and goalkeeping is so atrocious that you can have no idea what you're going to get from a goalscorer.
