This afternoon at 4.30, an all Ireland team (like in the Rugby) are playing the world's top ranked team The Netherlands, who are currently the World Cup holders. No Irish team of any sort has ever played in a World Cup Final before....These girls are heroes. It has been an awesome journey for an amateur team not seeded even to get out their group. Please try and watch this, this afternoon...it is fast, frantic and so skillful. The arena will be rocking and in the Olympic park there is a place called Fan central where you can watch for free on a big screen surrounded by beer, food and thousands of Irish supporters The place will rock This is where I have been for the last ,3 weeks..as a volunteer driver in the Transport Team. I can tell you first hand this Irish team is a great team of girls, all amateurs, with real day jobs, who really play as a team and who dared to dream... They didn't book hotels into the last week..and were lucky Belgium (who did) got knocked out or they would not have any where to stay.....They are amazing Come on Ireland. I will be there if I can creep in the back... nobody needs a driver when Ireland are playing in a World Cup Final Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
Nice one Beth. Great achievement to get to the final but likely to end there. The Netherlands are raging hot favourites I understand. Still heroines and have captured a nation’s attention and pride.
It was likely to end against India in quarter finals It was likely to end against high flying Spain in semis. Dare to dream.....Holland did not play well against the Aussies, who should have gone through... Dare to dream Ireland Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
I watched that game v Spain with my kids yesterday, great skilful and very watchable, we were all hopping around the room, great achievement from the girls and we’re all hockey fans now, very quick play, sadly no neymar type rolling around though...
Yes, was supposed to be three weeks with my late father's family in Cyprus but it turned into three months. Not the Cyprus holidaymakers see but the real thing almost 3,000 feet up in the Troodos Mountains and temperatures usually around the 70 mark. A very special getaway...
