And that's exactly what I'm hoping. I'd have accepted it without question if it wasn't for the fact that Douglas got dropped from pre season by Wolves - meaning that Pontus has played more recently than him! And of course, Douglas, Harrison, Bamford & Pontus have all had the same amount of time to learn our new style.

    I just think it's odd.

Exactly, he's spent four weeks at the World Cup training practically every day, how many minutes did he actually play so how out of condition could he got on holiday? If we go with Phillips and Berardi, Peter Crouch will surely have a field day??

Let's get positive Leeds to win 2-1 tomorrow. Pick the bones out of that, and that win will put us above nilwall.
Fancy letting 2 goals in with a few minutes to go. Very bad form IMO<laugh><laugh><laugh>

Well at least their posts have been deleted so we can expect harmony on the match day thread. I'm seriously expecting a good game tomorrow, if I am honest providing we don't get slaughtered but play decent football I will be happy.

Scott Duncan (Northumbria, born a Geordie) is the referee tomorrow. He was ref in three of our matches last season, we won none and he gave out 14 yellow cards and one red in these three games. So it could be wise to be calm to start with. (most of the yellows and the red were not to us)

Very bad form doesn't come near how I feel about that. Trouble is, that game was ten minutes too long. I think the time keeper should be investigated.

Hope this is not TOO off topic, Mr Ristac.

good morning everyone it's matchday at long last.been up early and managed to do my tax stuff and cleared the decks for the next holiday 7th Sept.
i think i'm like the rest of posters and am waiting to see todays lineup i mean iv'e thought about it and even put beradi in front of defence and then thought nah he will get sent off.phillips must start as he's the only mid left that has been in the squad.my question to ponder is who would you put with him cos on his own we will get overun.M.O.T. guys here we go again always got problems it's the Leeds utd way.

If you’re a member of the We’re All Leeds Facebook group, then you’ll know where I’m coming from. I’ve seen over 20 different suggested lineups, some interesting some ridiculous but all different in either formation or selection.

Then I thought if we’re this confused the other team haven’t a chance of trying to second guess us, even when they see the starting 11 as to their position it might not be obvious where they are actually going to play.

I agree with previous posters, Pontus has to start, I don’t get how he can’t be fit or less ready than the new boys. I’d like to see Pontus, Douglas, Bamford and Harrison all start, I have a feeling Douglas will be the only one in the starting line up, rest on the bench?

I think a slow start this season as the players get used to the new style and formation, it might take a bit of tinkering but key is not to get too upset if we lose.

Agree, can see a slow start and just hope panic doesn’t set in. Worrying comments from Rad confirming Bielsa not being happy about the sale of Ronnie. A bad start could really rock the boat.

Considering all transfers were supposedly meant to go through Bielsa it’s very concerning. I don’t quite get how we signed Bamford for £7m yet we we’re willing to go £11m for Vydra and had to sell Vieira and now we’re being linked with £2m replacements.

Bielsa did say Vieira would be first option off the bench so he wasn’t going to be a starter which is some consolation. I’d have also hoped the 12 exits had pathed the way for those incoming.

I have a feeling we’ll sneak it today, someone said earlier about the weather and heat playing a big part, Ive got to agree, it isn’t going to be possible to keep a high tempo game going for a full 45 not alone 90.

Really looking forward to it, will be gutted if we lose but not concerned unless it’s an embarrassment.

Sometimes in football a matter is out of your control, you pick a player as there is no alternative and they change your season.... Klich?

Certainly looks like an opportunity for Klich. I wasn’t impressed with what I saw last season but he has the pedigree so would love to have my opinion changed starting today.

The embarrassing defeat is what concerns me because it is a possibility. It’s only one game but the tone for our season could be set today so I desperately hope it is positive :emoticon-0148-yes:
