Will do my prediction around deadline day, Spurf. That way I can determine how many goals Grealish, Ousmane Dembele and Kovacic will score
Well, I don't like Wembley, so here's my song about the start of the new season! And I'm a bit frustrated by the silence (at the time of writing) on the transfer front. [Is THAT what Poch meant about being bold? I hope not!] I'll have to double up on predictions for the first two games, as I'm about to go on my hols.... and by the time I return, I shall be an octogenarian. Can't believe it! And can't wait to get into the new home ground. Meanwhile, let's get six points in the bag before we visit the Red Weevils. “Well, it’s Wembley” from "Do You Love Me" (originally by The Contours, but here’s Dave Clark & Co [Tottenham’s finest!], all for your delight!) Well it’s Wembley (I can't wait to move) Well it’s Wembley (Wembley groove) Ah well it’s Wembley (bloody Wembley) Now that footie’s back! Watch me now, oh! (work it out) I said-a work it out, Levy! (work it out) ah, you're drivin' me crazy - (work it out) a-with a little bit of dosh now! Mmm, I love the white-and-blues (white-and-blues) And I cannot resist (not resist) I said now tell me Levy (tell me Levy) Mmm, now do you like it like this? (like it like this?) Whoa, tell me, tell me, tell me…………… Well it’s Wembley, etc Watch me now, oh! etc Now I can do the blues (do the blues), etc Well, it’s Wembley, etc Well, it’s Wembley, etc Prediction (11 August): Newcastle 1 Spurs 4 Scorers: Moura, Kane, Davies, Eriksen Prediction (18 August): Spurs 3 Fulham 0 Scorers: Son, Moura, Kane Cheers, as ever Spurf!
Have a great holiday audrey and when you have time tell us a bit about how select your song each week. I suppose all those years as a teacher has equipped you well to produce an original piece of work each week but it's no mean feat to do this week after week. I am sure I speak for all on not606 Spurs when I say how much we appreciate your work. Thank You Audrey
You're making me blush, Spurf. Thanks for the very kind words. Be with you again in 2 weeks (older and sillier!)!
It's odd that this has never come up before, given the amount of predictions that people have made down the years. Might be an idea to use the first named scorers until it hits the number of predicted goals and then ignore the rest. In this case, count the Eriksen prediction and discount the Moura one, for example.
