I've never seen Rondon play so I can't slate him unfortunately. I can see he is a bigger lad though and will probably have more of an influence than Gayle who looks very lightweight in the Premier League.
URRRRRGH **** off with this link Muto 1st choice with Perez - think these two will work well together, Gayle 2nd, Joselu 3rd please. Rondon is pure garbage!
Right then, no Gayle to be seen for us against Augsburg - not even on the bench. No Rondon to be seen for WBA in the first game of their season - not even on the bench. Might be happening.

He is a 10 goal a season striker at his peak, which may be passing now. Buying him is not buying enough goals to stay in the league. Rafa obviously thinks he brings enough outside of goals to merit purchase. He may be more reliable and more consistent than Mitrovic, but Mitrovic should be able to surpass Rondon's ability eventually. However, football management is all about short-termism, so if Rafa doesn't rate Mitrovic as much as Rondon right now, fair enough.
I would be happier with a loan swap, because when we realise Rondon isn't good enough, we would get Gayle back for the championship Not getting tied in to 3 years for Rondon would be good. Did that Bristol City fullback start today?
Nice. Finally done. Charnley really does move at the speed of sound. If that sound was a long, wet, rattling fart. Twitter was awash with rumours he'd failed his medical, but it's Twitter, so.....welcome to Newcastle, Salomon.
Rumours on Facebook that we are interested in signing Ings for some absurd fee. Obviously won't happen, and I'd be disappointed if it did. I'm underwhelmed at this transfer window... even for Ashley. I think it's been more about getting healthy-ish bodies in to the squad, rather than decent footballers. Guess we'll soon see!
But selling on the tick and buying largely for cash he’s clearly trying to reduce his forward liabilities to make things look better to a potential buyer. The thing I struggle with is that Ashley is a smart cookie and loves money.... yet doesn’t understand how infinently more saleable the club would be with Rafa tied to a new contract and a decent PL squad in place (along with better infrastructure).
If he's trying to sell up as soon as possible then not spending makes sense as he can effectively pay off some debt and reduce the final price to any potential buyer. Rafa's only going to sign a new deal if he's given money to spend but Ashley couldn't pay off the loans if he did that. I'm clinging onto the hope that this is a prelude to him finally ****ing off. If he does that before the end of the season then new owners can hopefully convince Rafa to stay on. I don't think he'd need much persuading tbh.
