Tobes as taken this angle since Klopp walked through the door. If he keeps saying it, he'll eventually be right...
Funny that, we finished 6 little points(2 wins)behind 2nd place losing fewer games than the 2nd place finishers. The season before last though Mourinho couldn't handle the final third of the season fighting for 4th place and the EL so finished midtable. "Challenging", I fully expect us to put in a better "challenge" than last season due to strengthening the squad, but if you want to believe Utd will be stronger and put in more of a "challenge" in the new season............
Only about 4 of those will be starters in your first choice XI. It’s not how deep they went in the tournament itself, it’s the fact that they were in training / playing for about 6- 8 weeks after the season ended. So Henderson, Salah, Lovren, Allison, TAA, Mane and Firmino have had a very short break, and all of those players would likely be in your first choice XI.
Meh. Only Hendo and Lovren had to put any effort in. You could argue that keeping fit through training will have them in better condition than those who have been partying and/or lard-arsing on the beach all summer. Wait and see.......
Last season Klopp rotated more than any other manager and we've increased our depth more than any other top club Will your strategy still be to rotate by having 3 different managers with completely different playing styles?
Your squad didn’t have the strength in depth as your peers last season, and whilst you’ve bought in 4, you’ve lost Can, Ox to injury for the season, and Alisson is merely a replacement for one of the keepers that will leave. So where’s the massive increase in depth? We’ll see what Klopp can actually do minus the brain this season. The signs weren’t good at the end of the last one....
Arsenal supposedly will be Chelsea who knows Man U who cares Man C who will they buy next Spurs who your original comment should have been aimed at. Just think your WC comment in relation to us was a bit of a red herring. The high tempo pressing game is more relevant though assumption is our squad is stronger this season and therefore better able to cope with rotation. Personally i thought we altered our style mid season and weren't playing quite such a high tempo game .
And last season when it wasn't after a international summer? (When you claimed the same thing, again)
Last season we also had players missing due to injury and started without Van Dijk. Where's the massive increase in depth for our rivals? Has Silva beaten a professional football team yet?
Barring Clyne who were you without for a significant portion of last season? Your rivals squads were already far stronger.
Last season we missed Henderson, Mane, Matip, and Lallana, and were unlucky that most injuries came at the same time. Our rivals had the benefit of instantly crashing out of Europe. So that's a no for Silva managing to beat any professional side yet?
World cup is what... 3 to 8 games spread out over a couple months. I really don't think 8 games will have an enormous impact 6 months after they happen .
