Tees has just uploaded this. He doesn't exactly help himself, does he. SD really needs to come away from social media, he can't be unprofessional like that. He sounds like a little bitch with this comment. please log in to view this image
I've been well impressed with some of the club's signings so far and cautiously optimistic about the coming season but the one thing that bothers me are the owners themselves. As you say Saffy, it looks unprofessional. I'd prefer some degree of aloofness and gravitas. I don't want another Mike Ashley, watching from the stands with the fans or bantering on twitter.
It makes you proud to be a fan of this fantastic club. The journey proper starts tomorrow, bring it on.
All part of the journey mate. Our club never did plain sailing of we did we'd win the Premier League every year but every journey has to start somewhere and here's hoping Charlton go home well beaten tomorrow.
I can think of 3. Us, the mags and Man U! Doubt anyone else would get that after what we’ve been through
Man U certainly wouldn’t mate there crowds drop off even having a slow few games, tourists will do that.
Man Utd wouldn't sell 20 thousand season tickets in league one?? I'd have to argue against that. I reckon Sunderland, Newcastle, Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and maybe Everton. I'd be interested to know how many Leeds sold down there.
I’d probably agree that list thinking on in hindsight, dropping from 70k to 67k isn’t really bad I suppose, and United do have a great set of fans mixed in with the corporates. I rescind my comment and your list, and I’d say yes to Leeds, is close. Didn’t Arsenal have some ridiculously low crowds even last season though?
I thought that about Arsenal. Although their attendance always said 59000 there were loads of empty seats. I’m still appalled at Man City!! Plastic fans at their worst! Imo far worse than Utd as they had loads empty last season and they were playing the best football those fans have ever seen
No idea about the Arsenal thing, although it has kind of rung a bell now. I've been talking to the lads on the premier league board today and the Man City supporter on here said they sold 20 thousand season tickets in the 99 season when they were in league one. Still below us mind, ha
City is a bit different IMO mate they always had in and around 30k even when they were **** and as it boomed they didn’t get a massive fake following. There crowds haven’t dropped as such they’ve been stable, they have a genuine fan base 30-40k.
It looks the hardcore element has been pushed to one side by the prawn sarnie brigade. I always liked City growing up and always thought they were a similar team to us for history and support. I remember playing them at the SOL and they were only a handful of points behind Leicester and they never brought more than 500 up. That's something I'll never forget, it was that shocking.
They were selling out early in the Arab regime. Then they just eeemed to stop going! Can’t see us or the mags struggling to fill the ground if we were in their position
Us and the Mags would be building 80k stadiums in that scenario, shame none of these kind of backers see it!
