As you are well aware, I have never stepped foot in a Toby Carvery in my life Not only is the food awful, its full of greedy little buggers like you.
Yes I still visit Berwick Street if I'm on my own in central London (theres another shop round the back of Oxford Street where it meets Charing Cross Road. I 've been catching up on my David Sylvian collection on CD in recent years. We had OMD over here in february - they were another band I would buy everthing by - 7", 12" and all the remixes. Happy days
I used to love the Charing Cross Road, not just for the wonderful independent bookshops (Foyles have just refurbished their flagship store), but also for a lovely small independent cigar shop called G.Smith. He had been there since the war and I spent many happy hours in his humidor selecting 10 cigars and only paying for 5. He was forced out of business, like the book shops, by exorbitant rises in business ages & rent.
Everything's coming at once on the allotment, and I'm off to Edinburgh for a few days at the weekend.
