really dumb money if they do but i suppose most of the wages would have gone on a transfer fee. Guardian are reporting it as a 80k though which makes it far more palatable. 16.5m over 4 years.
Disagree, Williams is a liability nowadays. Normally theres a cliff edge for defenders (being 34) and i think he has gone over his personally. Mirallas might be a factor, that inconsistent player who can come up with a moment of magic. He'd be 6th in line behind coco, moura, son, alli, eriksen though for the 2 support spots for kane (if 3-4-3).
None of them are any good......which is why they're leaving Everton. If you're getting chased out of there and come to Spurs, a CL club, then we've ****ing lost it and are back to 2012 and Ryan Nelsen and Louis Saha. I'd rather sign nobody. Honestly. Plus, I'd expect our entire Academy to leave en masse. They'd be right too.
......or maybe Villa are wanting it to look like they are. Do Chelsea need any more young prospects? Especially a young English prospect costing £25m+.? They're loaning those out left right and centre. Which is why Grealish won't want to go there. I'm not seeing it.
Have to say though, that if Levy is trying to get £5/10 million off the fee because of Villa's situation, it doesn't sit well with me. Drive a hard bargain by all means, trying to take advantage of a club while they are down, not so good.
I get the feeling Moura is destined to not be taken serious as a first team starter. One of them players that doesn't get enough chances to show what he is about.
If we get Ashley Williams I will be so angry that I will write Mr Levy a strong worded letter to express my displeasure!
About 4-5 years ago I said Ashley Williams would’ve been a decent signing as at the time our defence was a shambles and he was seemingly a very consistent performer. Fast forward to now and he’s utter dog ****. It’s a big ****ing no from me. As for Mirallas, the guy’s less consistent than Yannick Bolasie and that’s saying something. Again, a big ****ing no from me.
Interesting article on Cook as a replacement for Dembele..... https://realsport101.com/news/sport...-cook-is-the-solution-to-the-dembele-problem/
I’ve got a feeling we’re gonna end up with both Cook and Grealish. 2 players who have played premier league football and aren’t massively expensive, so will be seen as “less risky”. - especially if daniel’s sweating over who we’ll manage to shift in time. In other news, any concerns over us going in for Mirallas can be put to bed. He’s expected to join Fiorentina on loan. And apparently burnley have had a £16m bid for Rodriguez rejected, so it’s unlikely Levy will be bothering with him if £16m’s not enough! My current incoming predictions are: Grealish Cook Martial +a CB if Toby goes. However, this will probably change in an hours time.
All I care about is CM. That’s not changed since the start of the window. Squad fillers elsewhere will then be bonuses. I don’t think Cook is a target. I hope Grealish will join. Also still have that gut feeling we'll do something big. Overall I think we’ll bring 3 in.
I think Cook is a red herring. If we suggest that we can get a fairly experienced PL player of a similar age who was close to going to the WC for £30m, it gives us an argument to drive down the Grealish price. He's who we're after. We're definitely interested in Zaha or Martial and I would expect 1 other - DH's mystery signing sounds right to me. If Toby or the DoF goes, we would buy in a replacement on top of those 3 purchases. I hope that DL has enough 'derring do' to do business prior to moving other players out, if that's what we have to do his
