A man has died after apparently slipping in his bathroom and stabbing himself through the eye with the handle of a toilet brush. The 60-year-old, who has not been named, had to have his skull opened in a bid to remove the brush, which had embedded through his right eye. However, he died in hospital despite doctors’ attempts to save him.

They opened his skull and took out the broken bone before removing the toilet brush handle. After the initial operation he remained in a coma and was moved to a hospital closer to home for more treatment. However, he never regained consciousness and died a few days later.

 

Eye eye!

 

Could be worse. He could have been stabbed.
