Good news for us fans, but bad news for City, it makes their UK PPV streaming a bit of a dead duck.

Are the games through City only available when somebody else is playing on Sky?

Presumably, if we were the designed live game, then we wouldn't be able to stream it anyway, but if the game is just available on the red button, then they can.

I'd be more worried about midweek attendances at all clubs across the board going downhill than City's PPV imploding before it starts.

It doesn't, it doesn't work on Sky Go either.

    Thanks.
    That's a pity!
Still, seems like good news for those of us with family or friends who have 'normal' Sky
Surely going to hit attendances though.

Does anyone still have a Sky Sports subscription? They said in the 80s that cocaine was God’s way of telling you you had too much money. A Sky subscription is the 2010s equivalent!

    That was my thought.

They’re trying to introduce a similar package of games in the PL TV rights. They want one full midweek of games to be televised live but Sky and BT aren’t keen. I think that packages has gone to Amazon.

The PL are already backtracking on the idea for the following round of rights.

Don't know how all the above works but does this mean there'll be online streams?

Won’t that increase the clubs income from Sky at the end of the season?

    Is that matches shown based?

No idea if there's an additional fee for matches shown only on the red button, if there is, I can't see it being all that much.

I don't see the value in it myself , no Champions league , not all Premier league and haven't they lost Spanish football now ?

Compare that to Netflix which is about £7 a month

The ratings for La Liga were relatively poor so I wasn’t surprised to see Sky let those rights go.

They’re not allowed all the PL rights because of some European law.

The Champions League was a big loss but UEFA wanted one channel to have the Champions League and Europa League which only BT bid for. Sky only bid for the CL.

He's referring to the value of Sky as a whole.

Netflix is an vastly superior product in every way. As is Amazon Prime, which actually will have football on it as of this coming season.
