So its now West Brom and Gayles fault this deal won’t complete? The obvious ploy here is just call this a swap with Mitro and offer West Brom less upfront cash for Rondon. Expecting Gayle to go for lower wages than he is on is just crazy. That is the deal that they might go for with a player entering the final year of his contract. If we teally want Gayle out we may have to subsidise his wages for an agreed period.
If we really want Gayle out we'll have to buy one, maybe two, really good strikers and push him way down the pecking order so he will feel like he has to go to get game time. At the moment he is in and around the first team and he'll want to remain a Premier League player and will feel he's got something to prove. Fair enough to him on that, he's got every right. The other way is that another Premier League club come in for him but that is unlikely. So I don't see him going anywhere tbh and he has three years left on his contract.
So am I getting this right - Rondon has agreed to the move to NUFC, which is a one year loan with option to buy. However, our insistence is that West Brom loan Gayle with a compulsory purchase next year. They're not happy. Charnley is a whole other level of ****wit.
Can't be right since Rondon only has one year left on his contract. If we loan him for a year we won't have to buy him from West Brom.
So perhaps you can understand why they aren't keen on the deal which would see them lose Rondon for nowt, but have to buy Gayle for £15m or so.
But hasn't Rondon told WBA he may be willing to sign an extension for a year so that they will get some cash back.
It's supposedly a loan with an agreement to buy after one year rather than an option. Don't know why we just don't do a deferred payment if that's the case. Trouble is they either want a replacement striker or some money to buy one. If Gayle won't go then they need a cash deal or we loan them Gayle, and subsidise some of his salary.
Calling bull **** on that. The accepted offer for Thelin suggests we have room in the squad or don't need to sell in advance. Why are we pissing about with a £6M forward though? We've just sold one for £20M+ Constantly dicking about trying to find value rather than paying a proper rate for a decent player and then moan that we are lumbered with ****e
Its not hard is it. Rafa has accepted one out one in policy. He just has to shift the players he's bought.
You literally choose not to listen. If there is truth that we have bid for Thelin then who is the outgoing player you speak of? If we are going to get another bod in irrespective of someone else leaving why are we again pissing about with someone who, dare I say it, won't be spectacular. How on earth can you defend the decision to bring this fella in?
Technically a good thing. Rondon is never worth £16.5m, not even in this screwed up market. Now we can play Mike's favourite game of 'cheapskate' and offer some way below it.
If he is in his last year of his contract then next June he will be a free agent costing zilch, so why do we need an option to buy??? Am I missing something?
