I was a policeman up there for years, I remember them shooting rockets at the police helicopter on Guy fawkes.
On my first night at the Club I was put in charge of 3 pool tables. One belligerent youth, about 15, told me that he wasn't prepared to have his name placed on the waiting list, just as all the other kids were. " My name is Boss, and I'm on next ", he told me assertively. " No your not ", I responded. I placed his name on the list, and told him he was No.17. " No I'm not ", he said. At which point he left the room, returning a few minutes later with a smug smile on his face. As a game was about to end, he sidled up to the expectant winner, and clearly arranged to take his place as the winner, who stayed on. In theory. When the game ended, he grabbed the cue, smiled at me, and scornfully said, " I told you I was on next, didn't I ". " And I told you that you weren't ". At which point I got up, walked to the table, collected the balls, and said, " This table is out of commission. Right ? " The Club went silent, even the murder ball game stopped, clearly the combatants thought there was more chance of murder at the pool table. Boss stared me down from the far end of the table. His smile had gone. The new Sheriff was calling him out. " You bastard ", he shouted. At which point he turned the cue around, intending to use the thick end as a club. I assumed that my head was his preferred target. I picked up two balls and stared him down. " Come on then ", I said, " let's see who strikes first ", as I aimed a ball at his head. The atmosphere was electric. Dodge City must have been like that on a Saturday night. Poor old Wyatt Earp,I was able to empathise with him. " I didn't want to ****ing play anyway, grouched the Boss ", throwing the cue in my direction as a last act of defiance. Normality returned. I was the hero, Boss had been vanquished. The 3 pool tables were back in action. Murder ball recommenced. Boss complained to the Senior, who told him to go home. The next week, Boss came into the Club, walked up to me and asked for his name to go on the list. Bless him. Happy days in Blaen y Maes.
J Ayew transfer is hotting up, now Crystal Palace are keen to sign Jordan Ayew, think he might be a better fit for them than Liecester, and now for something completely different, lets hope the buggers in the boardroom are stuck with Bony aye, that would make my season!!............. If Woods is willing to sign for u which appears to be the case the your club should stop fecking Brentford about and give them what they want. 6m is cheap. Im not sure on your other signings look a bit hit and miss. Inconsistent in and out of games type. Not Woods. Class act should be in the PL. The season starts Saturday. Just pay the money even if they want 10m. If youve offered less than 6 its an insult to Brentford. Youve had enough in fees to surely get this proven Championship operator.
Hanging on until the end of the window in the hope of getting him cheaper. Why didn't he do the reverse and get more for Mawson.
All these players we are selling off is telling us that Potts wants to put his own stamp on the playing side of things,,,,,Last season we were not much if at all playing L1 football. ..I do understand what is happening but if it was me then i would have kept Fab,J Ayew and A Ayew as they were under contact and could have done a good job in the championship. I think we were wrong there but it's done now and we just have to rely on potts knowledge that he is doing the right thing.....Having read the 4 new players history then i'm pleased with his signings but we are lacking a good striker now J Ayew has gone and he would have been ideal as one of our strikers.....I dont think we will be as bad as some thinks as long as Potts achieves the playing style he wants and i'm confident he is on the right track......I wonder who will choose as his captain ....One of the new players maybe..??
Aberdeen boss says McKenna too good for Swans. Personally I see it as a stepping stone for him from the League 1 standard Scottish League to the Premiership. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45037951
If the swap deal with Palace goes ahead, J Ayew out - in Jairo Riedwald, I don't see Woods coming, both DM's. Means we've already missed an open goal, without kicking a ball. Totally agree 55, good luck to McKenna, he needs to change clubs though as his current manager seems hell bent on marooning the lad in Scottish hoofball.
Burnley submit bid of £8million for Sam Clucas as Swansea City ready to cut losses The Clarets want the midfielder in place by the weekend This should certainly allow us to sign Woods who us supposed to be Potter's No1 target.
