Alcohol is probably cheaper in the UK in general. Certainly drinking alcohol out somewhere. $5 a drink is probably a cheap average for a beer most places (you can get it cheaper). A can of something worth drinking from a grocery store is usually $1.50 to $2.00 each. I've no idea how much a can of Coors is from the grocery (I think that's what Carling is sold as here) because I won't touch that stuff... It's probably cheaper though. A cheap bottle of Chianti is going to be about $15. A bottle of liquor about $30.
Going on holiday later this month so will probably have a glass or two of nice white wine and champagne on location
