The new season is almost up on us and I for one will be going to the game on Saturday full of optimism. Really hoping for our first opening day win for almost a decade, but even if we don't I sense we have turned a corner now and in for a half decent season..
i'm in the bad books with the Mrs as I have delayed the leaving time of our holiday so I can get to the game.. You would think she would know me by now after 30 years of marriage where I have never missed a home game in that time..
Can't wait for the weekend, mind is be happier if we'd landed Charlie Wyke but still think we have goals in us.
St Mirren would agree. Slightly reminds me of when I was a kid waiting for Christmas, weekend can't get here soon enough. Good thing it's the early game.
I’m ****ing buzzing for it lads, first time been this up for first game of season since we signed Bent, which was also last time we won an opener. Who thought that we’d all be bang up for League One, new owner, manager and players all a breath of fresh air. Can’t ****ing wait I’m so glad we early kick off to shorten the wait!
Absolute nightmare for me, it's my mate's wedding down in Kent, 1 o'clock start. Couldn't be timed worse. Gonna miss the whole thing. I asked him to rearrange but "it would cost thousands of pounds" blah blah blah... Selfish barsteward
I think Karl Pilkington summed up my attitude to weddings perfectly on his Meaning of Life tv show.... "so they love each other and they want to get married - fair enough. But why the hell have they got to drag loads of other people in to it" I avoid weddings at all cost
Going to be very interesting to see what the team and subs will be. Fancy we might see a few surprises.
Ha' ****ing way!! First season I've actually been excited about for a while. Watching a bunch of highly-paid mercenaries going through the motions has pissed me right off, as it has for most, but we finally seem to have got to grips with the issues that Paolo di Canio was telling us about ages ago. He may have been as mad as a box of frogs, but you can't say he wasn't right...
Don't sound like that much of a mate DM if he couldn't push it back a couple of hours for you. Just sneak off for a couple of hours to the nearest pub. He won't notice, he's only supposed to have his eyes on his bride anyway.
i will be in the railway club for 11am, but won't be drinking as I have to drive straight after the match.. My two sons will be having a few though..
Even my 16 year old daughter, who has never shown any interest in football up until now, is asking if I can get her a ticket for saturday..
You should obviously tell her that please log in to view this image Whitey It hasn't worked with my daughters, mind
Mines just turned 15.......not sure if she'll make 16. That said, she's looking forward to Saturday so I must have done something right
