We have signed 2 CMs and a LMF why do we need another CM, is there some truth in Sinclair going to Charlton
Had a look at the Leicester and Blackburn web sites and there is no mention of players joining Rovers in any way loan / or otherwise
Confirmed squad numbers for this season.... notice, there is no number 9 yet. 1 - Sam Slocombe 2 - Daniel Leadbitter 3 - Tareiq Holmes-Dennis 4 - Tom Lockyer 5 - Tony Craig 6 - Ed Upson 7 - Liam Sercombe 8 - Ollie Clarke 10 - Tom Nichols 11 - Bernard Mensah 14 - Chris Lines 15 - James Clarke 16 - Tom Broadbent 20 - Gavin Reilly 21 - Adam Smith 22 - Joe Partington 23 - Kyle Bennett 24 - Stuart Sinclair 26 - Sam Matthews 28 - Michael Kelly 33 - Alex Rodman
According to Twitter we've almost completed the signing (on loan) of Joe Nuttall. The Blackburn fans don't seem terribly happy, so I reckon he's probably a very good signing.
I think the tweet about Hamza Choudhury may have been unreliable. I reckon the ball could nestle in his hair and you would never know it was there.
I have seen us linked to him on twitter and seen on another forum that DC mentioned him last night at the BBC forum. But I haven't seen anywhere say that we have signed him. If we do get him, that's a very good signing.
2 1/2 days to get a striker, doesn't look hopeful before Saturday then its a loan signing and after Telfords lack of playing time I am not sure we can get anybody who can get goals to keep us in the division let alone the top 6. Beginning to think we will be looking for a new manager before Christmas as the lack of apparent support for DC could see him leave for a club that will share his desire to go upwards and onwards
old timer, negative comments do not help the support pr season. I am sure DC is doing his best and currently is competing for the same players with many clubs, Goal scorers to be available in market place is a rarity, he has to try to tear away from not keen sellers Lets hope all is sorted shortly and we get a good start
I don't mean to be negative here but I cannot believe we have let ourselves get to the point where in 45 hours time we will be starting the season with just 2 strikers. Both who don't have any real height either. One doesn't know how to score (Nichols) who just aint good enough. I really he hope he proves me wrong. And the other who has only played in Scotland for clubs who are equivalent to our L2/Non League level (my opinion), so he is a gamble. Hope it comes off! Rodman and Bennett got goals in them so could play out wide and support our striker if we play with 1 striker. But this is a short term fix and not something sustainable throughout the season. This could be an awful season where all the hard work over the last 4 years goes out the window. Yes still time left but why do we leave it this late. Why can't we get our business done early.
I don't understand why it's taken so long to get some strikers, but I trust DC to get the right ones. I'm not too pessimistic because we've still got a pretty good squad, and I'm more concerned about the defensive side. Hopefully the lads will keep a few clean sheets so they don't have to score too many goals.
So, DC was trying to secure Telford then. But Stoke made him unavailable. DC then brought in Reilly as Telfords replacement. Telford then became available but it was too late for DC to get him as he had Reilly and Nichols as the smaller guys. He needed the remaining of his budget for number 9 types of strikers. I wished we got Telford and got rid of Nichols but never mind now. Hopefully Nichols comes good.
Nichols was on fire a couple of seasons ago. Just needs to find his mojo and probably be played in a position that suits him better.
