    Now on to the year that I left school and got my first job in the World as an apprentice Boatyard Joiner at what is now Shamrock Quay in Southampton and then had even more money to spend on music and even going to a few live gigs.

    I'll get 1978 off to a flying start with one from the criminally underrated New Wave Jesus of Cool album from "Basher" Lowe...

    Cannot find a clip of it from the first showing of the stage production from the BIC in Bournemouth .

    If anyone can find one , please let me know .

    Loved the show and saw it again in London where the stage was big enough to let the Martian Machines truly extend !

    You're on topic Jasp, I was going to post some music from the album during the week as it was released in 1978 (my featured year this week), 40 years ago last month in fact.
    Sorry, I don't know what year the stage show started at the BIC and I have yet to have the pleasure of witnessing it...:(

    I love Justin Hayward's vocals on the song you have posted and I think that I have posted it myself, probably last Autumn!.

    I saw it in Cardiff, can’t remember which year though. Richard Burton’s voice from the original recording was used but Justin Hayward and everyone else was live. Fantastic show!

    Such a big track from my childhood. Sunday Roast with the sound track and story booming out of the kitchen speakers was quite an eerie experience. I’d have to put this in my top 10
