Some free agent strikers: Lacina Traore (formerly of Everton, released by Monaco). 6ft 8 and a goalscoring record that makes Mbokani (also a free agent) look like Alan Shearer. Wanderley - No chance of a work permit, but had a decent goal scoring record in the Middle East (48 in 86). Gabby Agbonlahor - Not sure what happened to him, did so well a few years ago at Villa. Must have something to give. Guiseppe Rossi - Former Man U striker just left Genoa, didn't pull up any trees. Victor Anichebe - This must be the first transfer window his name hasn't been mentioned with us. His goalscoring record hardly sets pulses racing. Cristian Lopez - Former Lens striker, actually has a decent goal scoring record in France. Christos Aravidis - Released by AEK in May. In 4 years he managed 34 goals and 9 assists. Still only 30 and plays for Greece. Not a great deal of quality, but given what we have at the minute, any of them would be a welcome addition.

Saw this from 20 mins ago on skysports transfer centre. BRIGHTON REJECT NORWOOD BID Brighton have rejected a fresh bid from Hull City for midfielder Ollie Norwood. The former Manchester United trainee has won back-to-back promotions to the Premier League and is attracting interest from other Championship clubs. Brighton are listening to offers for Norwood and value him at £1.5m, but we understand Hull remain the only club to have made formal bids at this stage.
Current Norwood betting... Hull 5/4 Birmingham 3/1 Fulham 6/1 Aston Villa 10/1 Bournemouth 12/1 To Stay at Brighton (Does not include returning on loan following a permanent deal elsewhere) 5/2
In the grand scheme of things £1.5m isn’t a great deal when you look at what they’ve trousered recently. Just get the player signed.
