Regarding strikers, I'm also worried that we played two of them for the whole 90 minutes v Dijon. If that's the formation we're going with, then something is going to break very quickly. We could have loaned Carrillo after the English transfer window closed, so I feel like we probably should have kept him until then.

Seems we have put a price tag of £15Million for Targett.

Are results everything for you then, supporting a football club is about more than that isn't it?

 

I still think that's pretty low and would rather keep him.
Bertrand covers a lot of ground in a season and whether he likes it or not, will need resting at times. Targett should be involved a fair bit this season IMO. If he doesn't see it happening then he can leave with my blessing.

 

If Fulham get Mawson and Targett for a combined £30 million, that would be decent business for 2 young English premier experienced players.

 

Nice lad but I don’t really see Targett progressing much beyond an average PL standard player myself, would happily keep him, but not bothered if he was to leave either .

 

The problem is, we wont sign a better LB than Bertrand any time soon. So realistically, what calibre understudy do we expect to have?
Targett is as good as we can hope for, but whoever it may be would need / expect to play games.

 

Exactly this, LB is not a position that we are overstocked with as opposed to other postions, Matty is not surplus to requirements here so no point in cashing in on a young player that is only going to increase in value.

 

Targett is a good player....he did well before his injury but then couldn't get back into the team for various reasons. May do well under a different manager playing a different style.....just have to wait and see if he is given that chance. Have to pay quite a bit to get a player considerably better than him, so, unless that is possible, why not hang onto someone familiar with the club.

 

Better results, in my mind, equate to taking on the best teams / players, performing at a high level against all comers and, win, lose or draw applaud my (your) team off at the end of the game.
If you get your "fix" in a lower league, then surely you should aspire to achieve the same or better, in the next tier above... no?

 

Maybe it’s why the club didn’t sell MCQueen to Bristol City? Get more money for Targett and keep McQueen as Bertrand back up?
