After a gruelling dales walk yesterday in pre-thunderstorm heat and high pressure.... a delight to wake up this morning after a night of rain to cool air and freshly watered earth....
Morning all. A dry and sunny day is forecast with a top temperature of 29°C, so quite good for getting some jobs done. Daughters car is still stuck in Italy waiting to have a new clutch fitted. Her husbands holiday finishes today, so he had to be taken back to Switzerland, then she with the daughters have to get back to collect the car Wednesday. She was due to catch the ferry to England tomorrow, but that has been changed. Meanwhile we have two rabbits to keep happy, but there is a plus side to that. My compost bins are getting additional material every time they are cleaned out.
Morning all from a very wet island. Earlier this morning, it was a downpour but now it's settled to steady rain. It should be interesting when jerzeypie plays softball this morning, as they are on the pitch where the home plate is artificial, as opposed to the other pitch which is just normal grass.
And on to see Myles Kennedy. Those unfamiliar should know that he's right up there with Paul Rogers, Ian Gillan and Robert Plant in terms of rock/blues /folk vocals.
Morning all. rather overcast at present, but no sign of rain. I had a productive day yesterday getting quite a lot done. Always better than slaving away and then thinking you have little to show for it. I am still waiting for a part to be delivered from Scotland so that I can repair one of our showers. I bought it in a sale for £30 seventeen years ago, and was amazed that I could still find someone selling spares.
Big day today..... elder daughter going to produce grandchild number 3.... I feel a little disconnected from this one up to now.... But will be a living reality very soon
Morning all. Another bright sunny morning and a top temperature of 29°C expected. Over the next few days it is expected to rise into the middle to upper 30 s, so my painting job is still on hold. My vegetables are doing better this year, so I wonder if that is because I started earlier by not having my holiday at the normal time in May. Watering could still be a problem at anytime despite having six 300 litre water butts collecting rain from my shed roof. They were filled to overflowing earlier in the year when it never seemed to stop raining. No doubt come the end of the year we will be told that we have had average rainfall.
On the end of a telephone.... they followed my instructions perfectly... 4.... and still the youngest to get started!
