It must be Mittals cash bankrolling us. He's probably found a few bob down the back of his sofa. I think he wants a taste of success, I remember how his little face lit up on the victory lap last game of last season.
Don't forget that Fernandes has dragged quiet a few rich Malaysians into the melting pot too. We now have ample funds, but we need to get that new stadium on the go asap so that we don't end up relying on the owners cash to keep us going.
Bellamy on loan and paying 50% of his £90k a week wage would be good but i would prefer a young striker to be bought in rather than a 32 year old. Does anyone else think the Mitals are pumping in money on the quiet? TF has got a massive wage bill on his hands already.
It's going to get ugly! Nothing but revulsion for Barton and despite Bellamy being a Taff and a top player I don't much like him either. I was at the home game against Cardiff and watched the away leg on TV last season and apart from some class goals (from both teams) all I remember is Bellamy throwing his arms up after every challenge and mouthing off at the ref. He didn't shut his gob all through both matches. Not sure I like the way things are going but have to say I'd like Crouch back, out of all the rumours it seems most unlikely but would rather him than most of the others we've been linked with. Bellamy & Barton in the same team? Oh dear.
I think Harry is still feeling the pinch of selling Adel to us for less than 1 million, doubt he wants to get screwed by us twice. But as the clock ticks down that figure might drop to an acceptable figure. We shall see.
SNN say that Dyer is good friend of Bellamy (from their time at Newcastle) and is trying to persuade him to sign.
Spending so far: DJ 1.25m, previous regime and only confirmed number Traore - undisclosed c1m?, possibly more Young - have I missed the fee? Guess undisclosed poss 2m? Ferdinand - press range 1m to 4m Split the difference seems fair SWP press rumour 6.5 m hope this is wild exaggeration Read somewhere that our salary cap is now £30k pw and some players have clauses guaranteeing that they match top earners. So new signers are getting huge signing on payments to maintain cap. All conjecture and we will probably never know the truth but if salary cap maintained and Mittals/ other sugar daddies bankroll upfront spending, may all be relatively sustainable
I'm sure they have in the back of their mind that we do have to buy big early on, as FIFA is threatening to bring in rules that clubs must live within their means. So until an new stadium is built and we are established in the Prem, we have to buy fast in case this rule does become a reality.
Bellers, SWP and Barton all played for Citeh at the same time so to nab these three plyers does seem to be good business. However, I am concerned that we could be paying out huge wages that may not be sustainable........
The club have been talking about buying players to secure survival, but now I think they looking at Europe next year lol.
Have a look at what the bookies say tomorrow when squad known re our final league position. At the moment we seem to have edged out of bottom 3, just.
I hear what you are saying, but these people are succesful business people - you'd like to think they've done the balance sheet sums re the cash flow for the next few years. Even with the PL money - we must be due to make big losses on our turnover I'd have thought. So there is a level of bankrolling going on, but they will know how much it will cost them.
So if it all comes together you could have: Bellamy, SWP, Dyer, Taraabt (sp), Barton, Ferdinand........ Looks like you might stay up with all those......... Good luck.
Big "Yes" to Bellamy. Neither he nor Barton are the mad young men they were, and while we will get the occasional unwanted fireworks, the positives will massively outweigh the negatives, I think. Both guys have got points to prove and NW will give them support.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I though City had vetoed any Bellamy move to a PL club. That's why he ended up at Cardiff last term.
