This. 8m is a **** load for anyone outside The Prem.

He would cut it though in my opinion, he just seems different.

Kenny Miller has cut it in this level before.
 
Proud_Fox - I doubt neither Beckford or Maynard would get into the Croatian national team. Did you see that sitter Maynard missed against Doncaster last Saturday?

I'd prefer Maynard or Beckford as well but he's far from the worst option. My concern is we need someone quick and Jelavic seems more of a big man. I do not want to see us playing the long ball this season, we have the players to do so much more if we just had a bit of pace in the final 3rd.

He's basically a better Rickie Lambert.

Far from 'the big man you lump it to' but he does have that in his locker so it's something to resort to when we're in the ****.

Proud Fox, you clearly don't watch the SPL.

Jelavic is by far the best striker in it and would be fantastic for us. 8m is a too much for any striker at this level and that is my only concern.

There are two things that came into my mind when watching that video. The first was that his positioning, awareness and finishing looked good, and the other was that the defending was terrible so I do wonder how many of those goals can be accounted to bad defending that wouldn't happen in the Championship.

I would take him though because he seems to have all the attributes of a top striker (if anything he maybe lacks a yard of pace but his positioning could make up for that) but £8 million is a heck of a gamble. Although I wrote on another article the other day that I would rather pay the money for the player and have them at the club (providing they would add something which I think Jelavic would) than be strict about spending and end up with no-one.

Robert Snodgrass, Kenny Miller, Steven Fletcher is some of the talent that comes out of it.

Its not all ****.
