If anyone saw the young British pair doing really well in the mixed doubles in Wimbledon this year then great news about Jay Clarke. He's reached the final of a Challenger event in America, beating a player who was in the top 20 a few years ago. Jay will now be in the top 200 best male players in the world - he's just had his 20th birthday so lots of years left to develop and improve.
I enjoyed watching Jay and his partner at Wimbledon. So cute. Know that's not got anything to do with ability, but was a positive on the entertainment front.
Yes, what I loved was that they were just enjoying themselves, winning was a bonus! They also played very, very well.
The Tour of Britain is coming through Chilcompton on September 4th! Stage 3 starts and finishes in Bristol and takes in the scenery of northern Somerset including my own village!
Great to see another Kenyan athlete emerging in the 800m!!! Hope this guy, Korir goes on to dominate in the World Championships and Olympics and the Commonwealth Games.
Just watched some of the All Ireland Hurling semi-final. Claire v Galway. Excellent and finished 33-33 AET. Replay to come. Such an exciting and dangerous Sport.
Jay Clarke won his maiden Challenger tournament yesterday, beating a player more than 100 places below him. He's now in the top 200 (175, I think) and is also now the British No 3. Seeing as he started 2017 at No 535 he's doing pretty bloody well Oh, and to make everyone feel old - yesterday, a woman won an ATP tournament. Nothing strange about that apart from the fact that she's the first one who was born in the 2000s to win a tournament...
Yesterdays Semi between Limerick and Cork was equally as good! In the Football my County Donegal play our rivals Tyrone for a place in the Semi Final. I'm very nervous already
Cheeky! I’m hoping it’s true about Geraint Thomas though, it would be a brilliant lap of honour for him around the country.
I'd be amazed if he didn't do the ToB or at least day 1 which is in Wales I'm going to be a volunteer so really looking forward to a fun day.
We had them last year, they spent a week decorating the village. Naturally ITV4 cut to an advert break as they came through. Never mind.
The only question is whether he does the Vuelta instead, which is on at the same time. I think he’d be mad not to do the ToB personally.
I read somewhere that Froome is doing the Vuelta - it would be a huge shame if neither of them were there.
Froome is the reigning Vuelta champion, so he kind of has to be in it. I just hope that means Dave Brailsford puts G in the ToB team so he doesn’t have to compete with Froome again.
