Lamela is very one footed and does no score many but his contribution is invaluable dhen on form imho. He will be fully fit and hopefully recapture the form from before his injury. He is the catalyst for our closing down, he gets under the skin of the opposition and breaks up play and does the dirty work really well. If he performs like he did v Leicester on the final day of the season he will be fantastic. Imho we missed him during his 18 month lay off.
Here's the thing about the way Lamela is played that I've never understood: Roma always played him on the left, and he was damn effective cutting in from that flank and drilling in shots with his stronger foot - yet the last time I recall him starting on that flank was the Europa League game against Asteras where he scored that rabona and he finally looked like the player we thought we signed (although he ended up being overshadowed by that game being Harry Kane's coming out party, with him scoring a hat trick before a brief stint in goal) Also... Grealish Watch The Birmingham Mail are reporting that Villa will accept a £25m bid, so get those sirens ready Also also... **** Bayern Watch Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has denied that they have an agreement with Stuttgart to scum Benjamin Pavard for €30m next summer when his release clause activates. I'd say this means we have until the summer of 2020 to sign him then, because he'll be on Bayern's radar after that...
I'm sure Victor Lindelof and Paul Pogba will be happy to learn they're the bases for a pair of (admittedly) good-quality Photoshops...
There’s actually been people on twitter losing their **** at this. Even going as far as saying “Poch is a prick” for sanctioning Toby’s “move” and better yet, when some have been told they’re fakes, these people are still ranting about it! Starting to think Spurs Twitter is our equivalent to Arsenal Fan TV, it’s genuinely embarrassing.
Looks like Griffiths is definitely off. Whether he joins Lyon or not, rumours now circulating that he’s cancelled his contract. No doubt talented and I really bigged him up last season but seems his attitude and ego has gotten the better of him. Disappointing but I’d imagine Troy Parrott is probably smiling somewhere, as his long term route to the first team has just gotten a little easier.
I remember the episode of Crackanory hosted by Jack Dee that began "They used to say that sarcasm was the lowest form of wit, but then some day somebody invented Twitter" - and I agree, Twitter does seem to attract a lot of halfwits...
Lamela put in a decent right footed cross for one of our goals against Roma recently. He also scored a nice right-footer last season. Leicester maybe?
Video doesn't work for me, but could well be. I was just guessing, could only find a vid of one Leicester goal
Very nice goal. Totally sold the Swansea defender and then used him to block the keeper's view of the ball. Hopefully he'll be able to stay fit this season and we'll see a lot more of that. We've really missed his pressing and having the option of using him when things aren't quite working out.
He makes a few tasty tackles, too. Generally just a bit rash or late rather than anything dangerous, but he does walk a line.
Injuries to both Wanyama and Sissoko means only one thing: we're linked with Geoffrey Kondogbia again...even though he only joined Valencia in May.
At £80m. Like hell we’re gonna pay that! There’s one or two rumours on social media today that Zaha is going to Chelsea, and Rose is off to Wolves or Everton.
Everton signing Digne from Barca so highly doubt they'd want Rose as well. Wolves, well as PNP said, he isn't Portuguese so that's a no-go, too.
