Does anyone in the Charlton world take the CAFC Trust seriously ?

As an organisation, they are about as useful as a One Legged Man in an arse kicking contest.

Can only judge the Trust by their actions, not just over the last 4 years, but over the last 12 years since Murray lost the plot.

Even this year in their fawning dealings with”Richard” they were totally unrepresentative if the views of the fan base.

We are very pleased to announce that Jim Dutton will stand for election to the board of CAST at our AGM in the autumn and in the meantime will sit as a co-opted board member.

Jim is the grandson of legendary Charlton manager Jimmy Seed and he wrote and produced "James Seed Football Manager" in 1977 (Oxford University Press). He is currently working on a follow-up. His middle name is Charlton.

He is recently retired after a forty year career at ITV News and he was also Company Director of Motion Records.

His first visit to The Valley was in Dec 1966, with his father - a former Covered Ender.

He was born three weeks prematurely as a result of the shock to his mother when she was told of her father’s sacking by Charlton.

Despite everything that has happened at CAFC in the last few years he brings his own infectious brand of optimism to the CAS Trust board.

Infectious <laugh> Hope you can't catch it by haveing a beer with him <yikes>

Also. is Jim his real name, or is it really Rodney?

I'm still a member, but since we are only about 1,100 we don't really have much influence. It's a pity the membership is so small, with a decent number it could be a force, but it's a democratic organisation, and if the fans turn their back on it it will cease to exist. Use it or lose it, as they say.
Like any democratic organisation, it's only as good as the members.

Their collective leadership remind me of half a dozen Vince Cables.

At least they bother to turn up, which is more than can be said for young Vince. I'm happy enough with the leadership, but if anyone feels they can do better they can put themselves forward, which no-one did at the last AGM.

I supported Cast in the beginning. They are now an irrelevance. They have watched while Rome has burned. Do you think Duchatelet gives a **** about Cast, Card, the Fans Forum etc. He will keep going on in his own not so merry way, destroying the Club, while we chuck pigs on the pitch. The only body who I think has really got up his nose are ROT. But that has been ineffective because he is still him.
Some people just like to feel important by being on Committee's it just fuels their ego.

We stopped Charltonifying people at about the same time Millwall dropped the word 'Athletic' from their name.
These days people get Charltonized instead.
Much the same process, but more resistant to peeling and cracking in harsh weather.

Nicky Ajose is a fine example. Thoroughly Charltonized over a year ago now, but he still looks good even after prolonged heavy rain.

Anyone silly enough to think of joining CAST should read their recent interview with “Richard”.

In their world, the last 12 years never happened.

    Simply not fit for purpose.

Some might say a Football Club gets the Supporters' Trust it deserves.

And unlike owners or players or managers, fans do have a say (indeed the whole say) in how their Supporters' Trust works and how successful it is. So no excuses.
Having said that, I do seem to remember CAST trying its very best for years to have meaningful communications with the Duchatelet regime.
They stuck at it for far longer than I would have, before finally giving up and throwing in their lot with CARD.

Only 210 votes so far this morning, but the Aussies are being given a resounding thumbs down by our wider fan base.

If I was Andrew Muir, I would be worried.

The views of hundreds of Charlton fans will no doubt be dismissed as trolling in certain quarters, because it doesn’t fit the narrative.

You can stop kicking the take-over now Royston, it's dead.

Maybe we should re-focus on who the real bad guy is.

They did this because there was an overwhelming vote to do so at a meeting in Woolwich. I was one of about 10 who voted against it.
