http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11675_7139832,00.html Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is desperate to leave the club with the Russia international claiming Sunderland are interested in his signature. The 29-year-old has failed to earn a regular place in the Spurs team since his signing from Spartak Moscow in 2008 and, following the arrival of Emmanuel Adebayor, on loan from Manchester City, he has fallen further down Harry Redknapp's pecking order. Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is still trying to plug the gap left when Darren Bent departed for Aston Villa in January, and Pavlyuchenko hopes a deal can be brokered before the transfer deadline passes. "My agent is in London. He met the (Tottenham) chairman Daniel Levy to try to find a way out, but so far there is no solution," he told the Daily Mail. "We gave the option of going out on loan for six months but Levy opposed it. The team have five forwards, and someone will not even get into the squad, so I should leave. "We can find options. I know that Sunderland have been actively interested in me. "In England, miracles can happen on the last day of the transfer window. So there is hope, but it is very small." With Tottenham's squad including Adebayor, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe and Rafael van der Vaart, Pavlyuchenko realises that he has limited opportunities at White Hart Lane. "I still want to stay and extend my contract, especially since everything suits me at Tottenham," he added. "Everything except playing time. But when I am not allowed on the pitch, renewing the contract doesn't make sense." Right, so that's crouch expected to leave and Pav now pushing for a move. Surely our wish of a marquee striker must be on the cards? Adebayor (on Loan), Defoe and an injury prone VDV isn't enough... surely? Who's it going to be Gents?
Hoo bloody ray, about time we got rid of Pav, and I thank him for helping himself on his way out the door. Regarding his comments about lack of game time, you have to earn it and he's had his chances. Simply put he's not good enough. Hopefully this paves the way for Cisse/Damiao/Unexpected superstar to come in
I agree. as ive stated before, i used to be an admirer, but now i think it's time for him to go. god, we leave it late, dont we? just hope it's not too late! come on Levy, you've got to top VDV this year! messi?
I think if a reasonable offer comes in of 8-10m, we should sell, the guy is so hit or miss you can hardly count on him week in week out. I would try to get Adam johnson in, weather he would come or not I don't know, he would offer great competition with bale and lennon.
It's beckham. i'm convinced! we need "characters" and "new faces" according to 'arry. when we were all speaking about Bryan Ruiz, someone on here said "how can Levy be dealing with Ruiz when he's in america". we've tried to get him in the past and it fell through. DB is a business in himself. - massive revenues for the club. "massive player at the lodge". hmmm.... does make you wonder.
Did anyone else spot his his gesture to fans against Hearts, giving it the 'mouthy' gesture with fingers and thumb. HYe was getting abit of stick, but then who doesn't for putting a shot in row Z!
I'd accept less than that for him mate. Even though it's taking quite a loss, the guy just hasn't delivered as often as needed and at times seems uninterested in helping the team., I'd be surprised if teams came in with a £8m+ bid. Agree with the Johnson bit, would be a fantastic signing for us, though I doubt City would sell him, especially to us.
It's not about Pav hating, I just don't feel he's good enough for this club as its being echoed by many. It's called an opinion on these forum sites.
Lazy physically, lazy mentally, hasn't forfilled half of his potential. The sooner he is out of here the better.
Pav would come good if given enough game time I'm sure. I'm not talking 20 goals a season good but I reckon he'd get 15 or so, which is more than could be said for the likes of Crouch. As you may be able to tell I'm a bit of a Pav fan (!). I would sell for anything over £8 mill though, even though that is a loss on what we bought him for. Adam Johnson would be a great signing as well but I'm sure City wouldn't sell to us. I was surprised enough that they loaned us Adebayor although that may mean they they no longer view us as a threat to their position in the PL, in which case by all means let us have players such as Adebayor and Johnson!
