Offer accepted Club agrees fee with Sunderland for Luke O'Nien transfer Midfielder set to complete move to Stadium of Light. https://www.wycombewanderers.co.uk/...-fee-with-sunderland-for-luke-onien-transfer/
Here's an interesting little snippet. According a report in Spain, Sunderland defender Bryan Oviedo has been offered to Spanish Segunda Division side Córdoba CF. The report claims the Black Cats will pay half the Costa Rican left-back's wages during a season-long loan with the Spanish second tier outfit. The article further suggests the player's agent has been active in attempting to broker the deal. It's probably nonsense of course but an interesting piece of tittle tattle all the same. Córdoba are hardly one of Spain's top clubs. The Andalusian outfit have spent most of their history floating around between the top three divisions in Spanish football. But with a new manager and sporting director appointed, they seem to have some ambition and can now count the government of Panama as one of their key sponsors.
Looks a great character. More diving headers in that two minute video than I've seen in the past ten years.
Hate to say this Saf but i think Barry Fry has mugged your lot off. Hope i'm wrong and he comes good for you. The lads history is poor and he has a dodgy knee, if he was any good Evans would not have let him go. Tbh i can't even remember the lad and he has been around in L1 for a while, hence my first thought was who!? Steve Evans only came in at Posh part way through last season if memory serves me right, my guess is he is getting rid of dead wood.
You'd think you'd remember a player who consistently comes back to captain your side after returning from injury but ok I believe you.
The reason I made that comment tonight is because I've realised that we may have signed a crock. Out of the last 92 games, he's managed to play something like 32 games. That is horrendous and concerning, to me. I've spoken with lads of another team in league one and they've said he's a decent player, but never in the team through injuries and suspensions. That kid we've bought from Wycombe looks decent and McGeough who we have signed from Hibs looks like he'll be the best player in this league by an absolute country mile.
Evans ambition is to manage Celtic, despite his previous unsavoury background he has got every club he has managed promoted. Crawley, Rotherham, did a fantastic job at Mansfield, i just felt if he is letting the lad go, it seemed odd he should go to what would be regarded the favourites to win this league and Posh's toughest opposition. Not sure if you have done, but might be worth you popping on the Wycombe board, there are a few lads hanging around on there who will be able to tell you about the other lad.
Whoop whoop; sounds like Sunderland have all but finalised a deal for Bradford striker Charlie Wyke The last time we added a 'whoop whoop' to a headline, we were told George Evans was a done deal. Ok so it never happened - but it very nearly did until Sunderland walked away. This time it's Charlie Wyke. by Brandon_Rawlin Saturday, 28 July 2018 01:10 PM 0 Comme
Word is, Sunderland are on the brink of announcing Charlie Wyke has signed from Bradford City. The 25-year-old has been top of the Black Cats wishlist for some time but the Wearsiders have faced competition from the likes of Bolton, Preston North End and Aberdeen for his signature. It seems a deal to bring the Middlesbrough-born striker to the Stadium of Light has now been concluded and Wyke will have several days to link up with his new teammates and prepare for the 2018/19 season which starts a week today. please log in to view this image Charlie Wyke's twitter profile pic Wyke has played over 50 games for Bradford since joining in January 2017, bagging 23 goals. Last season he bettered a goal every other game in League One and has developed his all-round game since the last time we saw him in the north east. A product of the Middlesbrough youth system, Wyke spent a couple of seasons loaned out at Hartlepool United in his younger days. Pools fans remember him as a raw physical threat who enjoyed a battle with opposing centre-backs. The 5ft 7in hit man has developed into a powerful number nine who has added some consistency to his goals-scored stats. Wyke's arrival at the Stadium of Light is likely to follow hot on the heels of Jack Baldwin who has been unveiled this afternoon and Wycome Wanderers midfielder Luke O'Nien who is widely tipped to be unveiled this weekend. There's likely to be more to come too with at least two more names in the frame just now as Sunderland step up their efforts to land reinforcements ahead of the visit of Charlton next Saturday. This week is also likely to see a raft of departures. We'll hopefully have some news on those a little later
If we can pull this off and land Wyke I would not hesitate in including us as favourites to go up automatically, that's how much I think this lad can influence our attacking options. he knows where the goal is and his physicality will allow the youngsters around him to flourish. I'm very excited by this signing if we get him.

I think he'll still leave Bradford, but where to is anyone's guess. I hope it's us, but won't be massively upset if we fail to sign him, because there's goals in our team already. I can't remember feeling this confident for years!
