Another transfer window slams shut tonight and we can see the mad scramble starting, weeks of inactivity then madness squeezed into a scrambled last 24 hours, why?

Selling clubs have been hanging on for that extra 1 or 2 million then it suddenly dawns, if we don’t act fast we could end up paying a small fortune in wages for a player we don’t really want or need.

Buying clubs hang on, unwilling to pay that extra few million and wages for a player before the season starts, then it suddenly dawns, if we don’t sort it today we could be goosed.

Players start the season saying how determind they are to push on for their beloved club then two weeks later they stand with their new shirt saying how determined they are to push on for their beloved new club.

Other players are given a few hours to decide on where their family will be living for the next few years.

Today we will see the mad rush as players and agents criss cross the motorway network trying to sort medical and contracts in record time, managers panic, chairman sort moves and the poor bugger who looks after the budget must be on a mix of whisky and tranquillisers.

Still at least us poor sods who pay the money and and support the club will know at close of play who our squad will be and love it or hate it we have a choice, turn up and support or don’t, that’s it, the only option we have.

Surely there must be a better way, but hang on, its exciting, cures dihoria and keeps us watching all day.

Here at not606 we have fans at every club watching every media outlet, every source, mind some are dubious sources, so whatever happens there is a good chance we will be amongst the first to know.

It means this is the place to find the arguments for and against 24/7.

Enjoy your day and keep taking the pills.

I've got to say I love it.
That said it's madness the season is allowed to start before deadline day IMO.

Not surprised Syd, the latest reports coming out of the Sunderland Echo are suggesting that we are not prepared to pay anything like 10 million for Crouch, indeed the Echos reporting that we havent lodged a bid at all

I have something to write up on my PC and the temptation to refresh various screens, not606, smb etc is very difficult to resist so work is progressing slowly.

Can we not have a video feed to this site from the AoL, and alerts if anyone is spotted going in? Where is SNQ and SB atm?

Transfer's final day should be the evening before the season starts, not this load of ****e a few weeks into the season.

Absolutely agree! Admittedly we'd be pretty ****ed if the window was already closed, but Bruce should have had us sorted by now.
