The guidance you receive with the badge do point out that that you do still need pay heed to the needs of other road users and the safety aspect but i accept this clearly doesn't happen with some. I have a bit of a bugbear about this subject ,for personal reasons, so i probably shoud leave it before i enter rant mode.
I don't go to ****ing supermarkets. They have them at the mega co-op and Aldi in Stockton Heath, because people used to park there and get the bus into Warrington
I've never seen a supermarket use a barrier, but they (almost) all have parking restrictions. They're monitored by camera usually- because, as has been pointed out, they only exist to prevent you from using the space without patronage. Barriers exist at other car parks because you have to pay, regardless of the length of your stay.
tbh I've never thought about how long I spend in a supermarket car park or been aware that there are restrictions or cameras. I've learned something here. My initial surprise was that some supermarket car parks have barriers and/or require payment to use them.
The two hours thing is a bit **** tbf. They all have a cafe, opticians, clothes department, electrics department plus food etc. Easy to go over 2hrs if you do all of them (I don't)
Btw... Having a good laugh at the BBC's coverage of the heat wave... Oooh. 35c highest recorded in the country.... oooh scary... (I know... It's different when the buildings are designed to trap heat and don't have air conditioning)... But it's still amusing that temperatures mostly in the 20s in most places is considered a heatwave. Sorry... Amusement over...
Just ordered - Unchained - Powerful & Unflinching Narratives Of Former Slaves: 28 True Life Stories in One Volume - for my Kindle, only 49p. Had a quick look to see which slave narratives it included and noticed it's 5933 pages long
I didn't read the full description before I bought it and thought it was a compilation type book, didn't realise it was 28 full books in one volume. Still for 49p if I only read one chapter it will be worth it.
Just to emphasis what a poor state Scottish football is in, if Aberdeen beat Burnley and qualify for the group stages of the Europa League they will make more money than they did coming second in the Scottish Prem.
