Good Morning Everyone Are the pieces of the jigsaw finally coming together? Leeds have agreed a transfer fee of 3m (rising to 5m) for one of the best defenders in the Championship last season. Wolves left back Barry Douglas 28, scored 5 goals and was credited with 14 assists last term from 40 appearances. He was also named in the starting line in the best Championship XI. Talking of the best Championship XI, the Vydra deal may not be dead and buried as we feared. Instead, Messrs Orta and Radrizzani may have been playing an ingenious game of cat and mouse with Derby County to bring Czech Republic International to Elland Road. As reported yesterday, the Rams have signed Jack Marriott from the Rams for an initial fee for 3m (rising to 5m upon appearances). They now NEED to sell Vyrda to keep their finances balanced and to stay the right side of financial fair play. There was talk last night of a lower fee of circa 8m being discussed to make way for Vyrda's wage demands. For once, Leeds are not putting all their eggs into one basket. They have been talking to Boro about bringing Patrick Bamford to ER, should the Vydra deal not go through... Thoughts? With Douglas coming over from Wolves, where does this leave De Bock, especially as Tom Pearce is improving game by game? The 25 yo former Belgium u21 international only made 5 appearances for the Whites last season but is enjoying a much better pre season. There is talk that Bielsa is exploring the opportunity to play him as centre back; alternatively the club could recoup some of the 1.5m paid for him in January. More importantly, it would be 10 - 15k off Leeds wage bill per week! Don't forget, its the Guiseley match tonight!
Morning all... Berardi as the make shift over DeBock, got my fingers crossed that the Douglas deal materialises, give Derby the asking amount and strike a deal where they cover some of Vydra’s wages, we’ve done that enough in the past the other way around. Vydra hasn’t asked to leave so Derby won’t drop too much as a chunk will be due to Vydra, I’d be more that happy if we end up with Douglas, Vydra and Maddison
Morning everyone All the above probably to good to be true,so probably just more ****,would be great if it was true though, as we desperatly need a quality striker to finish off some of the assists from Douglas,But just suppose it is all part of a great plan, we could be realy rocking this season,so fingers crossed get the beers out of the fridge (not that shaks needs an excuse) and get ready to party
Morning all just waiting to see if any players sign next two days.left back looks like a good pick.beradi can cover right back if needed letting ayling move inside.
Morning all. Why are Derby selling a player valued at £8 million and replacing him with one costing £3 million?
Good Morning to Matt and co from yet another warm sunnyCote de Bardsey Well all Douglas has to do is pass his medical and so should be ours later today If we sign Vydra and I think Orta has been very clever on this on because Derby have signed Marriot and agreed to sign Waghornthey have put themselves in an hole which we can exploit so a fee of say £8m plus add ons seems on the cards and according to some reports personal terms have been agreed Vydra is not a target man so to get the best out of him we must sign a bigg striker so he can feed of him any suggestions Madison will probably be the next signing so Vydra will get a good supply from him I still think we need to replace Calamity with a strong CB ,we did sign a great prospect from Finland but wait for it yes he;s injured! Bamford has never totally shone for me and his wages are far to much at 50k a week so not for me Deeney again to old and too much
Wilf they are actually buying 2 players Marriot and Waghorn for an initial outlay of £7m so if we can get Vydfra using same method lets do it I think Douglas at £3m is a snip but this could rise to £5m
Morning ristac, agreed, we don't need DeBock if we have Douglas, Pearce, Dallas and Berardi. He certainly played well when we saw him last week.
Morning WCD, Derby have splashed out a lot. They've bought / loaned 4/5 incoming players in the last week,. and are keen to get Vydra's salary off their books...
