I'm banking on him playing 2 up front. He's done it a lot pre-season. If he goes back to that negative boring tactic as soon as the season starts...then how would they expect the fans to keep behind him. He has to be more progressive and bold.
Instead of purely a Plan A or B. Edit - Correction we're leading 2-0. I didn't see that Hanley had scored
Yes, a bit worrying about Rhodes going off. Hopefully it's just a precaution. Mike Bailey has the line-up listed as 4-1-4-1. There's text commentary on the Pink'un and on EDP. Edit: Stiepermann has replaced Rhodes, though he takes Pukki's position behind Pukki, who moves up front.
Mike Bailey on Ben Godfrey: "Been impressed with Ben Godfrey so far, playing at CB. Just looks like someone who's been given a big vote of confidence from inside the Norwich camp - and now he's ready to show what he's got here this season. I like it."
Comment from DDF (David Freezer at Archant!!) - 'Been really impressed with Marshall and McLean in that half, Thompson looks sharp considering he was out for so long, Godfrey looking better at centre-back. Only negative is that Rhodes injury after 20 really.'
The Rhodes injury seems to be an ankle. He had treatment on it then hobbled off avoiding weight bearing. Mike Bailey is also impressed with Thompson, quietly efficient, and Godfrey is looking good at CB. His pass out of defence to Marshall set up the third goal. Edit: Luton goal makes it 1-3 now. "Missing Hanley already? Cross into the box isn't dealt with. First save from Krul is decent - but Gambin slots home."
1-3 is the final score. Mike Bailey's final comment: "About as encouraging as you can get - minus a sloppy period at the back early in the second half." Paddy Davitt's Match Report: http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/canaries-luton-town-match-report-1-5624138
