Crystal Palace have made a late bid to sign Marko Grujic on loan from Liverpool and are also interested in Chelsea’s Danny Drinkwater.

Cardiff City have held talks with the Reds about re-signing the Serbia international midfielder on loan.

The 22-year-old joined the Welsh club in January and played 14 times as they secured promotion to the Premier League.

Liverpool are thought to be open to the idea of the Serbia international returning to the Cardiff City Stadium for a second spell.

Grujic has made eight substitute appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool since joining from Red Star Belgrade in a £5million deal in 2016.”

hopefully the lad ends up a 15 mil player after this loan and we pocket a mil or so far the loan fee too.

headline is slightly misleading.

The numbers are actually sales price minus purchase price per player

its not a reflection of overall club activity . LFC just happen to have made a record sale and made a huge one off profit on it.

James pearce:

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has no intention of signing another centre-back this summer – despite Joel Matip’s injury setback.

The Reds have been repeatedly linked with a move for Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida with fresh reports suggesting that a bid of around £19.5million had been tabled.

However, Liverpool have no interest in the Croatia international and are baffled by the constant speculation linking them with Vida.

Matip, who has flown home from the tour of America, is expected to be sidelined for a fortnight after limping out of last weekend’s defeat to Borussia Dortmund in Charlotte.

But Klopp isn’t concerned about a lack of defensive cover ahead of the Premier League opener against West Ham on August 12.”

Yes it would have been more apt to put the second line there as the headline - Reds have more deals in the top 20 than any other Premier League club - which is what they are really pointing out. Clickbait rules

How many times was he 'injured ' when playing alongside Suarez and banging in the goals?
What, so after Suarez left a talented striker decided, "**** this, I'll fake injuries and rot on the bench for 3 years" instead of just playing and forcing a move to another big club to win things? Daft argument.

No play wants to rot in the reserves and just pick up a paycheck. They want to win medals and trophies at any club they can force a move to. Whatever his issues are, they're more mental than physical these days

I recall some lad said something like that.

I think someone commented about football was a hard life recently too. he wouldn't advise his kids to do it due to all pitfalls or some such.

Interesting link. What stood out were that most of those transfers were to AC Milan - lesson: don't sell to them, they're cheapskates <laugh>

Tried to find a similar link about PL clubs but my computer's going slow today and doesn't like those sites that want to present the article as a slideshow.

'Alisson could be worth 10-15 points'
Liverpool’s world-record breaking goalkeeper Alisson could save the Reds upwards of “10-15 points a season” according to Steve McManaman.

The Reds made the Brazilian goalkeeper the most expensive shot-stopper in football history last week when they struck a £65million deal with Roma, and Jurgen Klopp is hopeful the aggressive pursuit of the Brazil international brings an end to a long-standing weakness in his team.

McManaman is convinced that Alisson will be worth the eye-watering outlay too, as he told the Daily Mail:
