Trying to get my head round whats going on here: - has Charnley shot himself and the club in the foot by getting the negotiations wrong - are Fulham able to purchase both Schurrle and Mitrovic - is Rafa having 2nd thoughts about him going Can’t see it being the last option and neither of the first two are particularly reassuring. First we dont get our money to spend, second we have real competition from the promoted teams this season. Its times like this that you need reassurance from Windy.
I’m starting to wonder wtf is going on aswell. The club looks a shambles from top to bottom atm. It is mainly Ashley’s fault but Rafa is playing some weird game of cat and mouse aswell. The silence from the club is deafening. Even talksport where taking the piss out of us yesterday saying we couldnt afford 3.5 mill to buy Schar. It’s that obvious to the outside world there is something seriously wrong at the club. Something has to change soon.......

Not a lot. Rui Fonte [lightweight,probably not prem standard] Floyd Ayite. Aboubakar Kamara [both quick but erratic] and Cauley Woodrow not by any stretch of the imagination prem standard and likely to be sold to a lower division club.
There were pictures on sky showing Mitrovic turning up for training - he looked as if he had swallowed a wasp! Credit to him that he signed autographs for the young fans,however there was no sort dialogue with them. Over the years we have had good relationship with Newcastle,players like Beardsley,Clark,Goma and Albert have come to Fulham and really contributed- now there is an undercurrent of hostility. Perhaps it relates to the January window when we reportedly rejected a bid for Cairney,and you rejected our bid for Gayle. Both clubs have been active in the current market,and deals appear to have been concluded quickly and to all round satisfaction.Why then the obfuscation over this proposed deal? How do Newcastle value the player? Who decides the Valuation? Is it Ashley? Is it Charnley? -or are there others involved? As things stand at the moment any chance of us signing Mitrovic seems remote,so what will Newcastle do ? One possibility is to loan him out for the season.If that fails Rafa is stuck with a player who is not in his plans. It will be interesting to learn whether he will be on the plane to Portugal. The final question is not whether Rafa gives Mitrovic a chance,but does Mitrovic want to play for Newcastle again?
Sounds like you are starting to take this personally. I would rather he went for the simple reason that he is an asset that would allow us to buy a striker we would use. Would be nice to get as much as possible. Best thing Fulham can do is start looking at other targets. If your manager keeps coming out and saying how much he wants him it gives Charnley/ Ashley the strength to hold on longer. There is no way they will want him at the club beyond the end of this transfer window but will have no problems taking it right down to the wire if they think there is still a buyer.
Hopefully they can come to some kind of arrangement for a number of reasons. The main one of course is we need the funds. Then you have the managers lack of interesting in using him. Then of course the human aspect of it not being fair on the lad himself. Yes he signed a contract but he is at an age whereby he needs to play. I'm sure he was sold a dream when he signed. Its turned into a nightmare.
Nothing personal - just cannot get round the fact that this should have been a straightforward deal. Player want's to leave. Not in the managers plans. The problem Newcastle have in finding another buyer is that Mitrovic has apparently set his mind on joining us. Any club buying him would have to note that they were not his first choice - would he play to the best of his ability? BTW did he travel to Portugal?
No reason why the club should bend over backwards for Fulham. The Cockney twats are taking advantage of the situation, trying to get him on the cheap. They know the price, and if they don't want to pay it, they should go and do one....
