For Sturridge (Alice in wonderland), collecting 150,000 GBP per week is a good thing. Things could be better if his contract is extended for another four years.(Did I just said that)?.
if he can get an extension he should do so but i hear that surgery is not without risk as for 4 more years... like donald trump the only crowd that will be shouting that will be a rentacrowd.
Klopp expecting departures Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is expecting several departures from his squad following the arrivals of four players this transfer window. The German says it is important players get the opportunity to play regularly, even if that means being loaned out. He told Liverpoolfc.com: “In the end, it makes no sense to have 35 players in the squad because developing players means they have to feel needed; they need to see ‘in this or this situation, I can play in the team' and all that stuff. “I am pretty sure a few things will happen, but exactly what time will show. “When all the players are back the squad is big, so it is clear they all need opportunities to play. “The ones who are very young, we don’t think about it; they are in absolutely the right place now and if they can play with us or the U23s, it is perfect.”
echo have a list but its fantasy land type stuff where a reporter is doing what jimmy wants.. namely sucking off michael edwards GK: Allison Karius. Surplus = mingolet RB: TAA clyne Gomez - surplus = conor randall? is he even still at club?? LB: Robertson, moreno. - surplus =moreno in last year? CB: Lovren Matip CB VVD Klavan. surplus = klavan really No 6: Fabinho henderson, grujic. surplus = grujic. CMS: kieta, ox, milner, windy, lallana, allan (forgotten man), chirivella LF: mane, ojo RF: salah shaqiri. woodburn? Surplus = markovic St: Frimino, sturridge. solanke? brewster? Surplus = ings, origi already on loan bogdan Kent Wilson Ejaria Awoniyi (watch this guy lads, this is his year btw) I count 34 before those out on loan therefore if you take Klopp at face value about kids then Woodburn, brewster, maybe ojo and even solanke might stay. The surplus list therefore looks like Randall (really thought he was already gone but lfc website still lists him) Klavan (leaves us short imo) Grujic Allan (prob loan again) Chirivella Markovic Ings origi that would leave a squad of 25 players including some kids if we keep 2 seniors for every place. I think ojo or solanke will also go on loan.
Barcelona out to spoil Eden Hazard swoop Real Madrid’s transfer plans to sign Eden Hazard could be dealt a huge blow thanks to a cunning plan by Barcelona. According to Spanish publication OK Diario, Chelsea are not willing to negotiate over the Belgian’s departure unless a fee of €200m (£178m) is put on the table. Madrid are keen to get their stated price down but ‘interest’ from Barcelona could, instead, see them having to pay more than Chelsea’s asking price. Barcelona have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old in recent weeks but have baulked at Chelsea’s valuation. OK Diario claim Barca’s hierarchy are well aware they will be unable to prise Hazard away from west London this summer and are now only pursuing him to make life difficult for their rivals. In the battle for La Liga next season, Barca know Madrid are struggling to replace talisman Ronaldo, and the chance to stop them getting Hazard is proving to good
Sturridge has looked pretty sharp and fit in pre-season so far, links up very well with Keita (bit of a bromance going on there) too so I'd be more than happy if he's still on the books come the start of the season. If there's 20minutes to go and we need a goal, I'd sooner bring on Danny than Ings, Solanke or Origi. I know he's injury prone, but I think a sub role and the odd 20/30min appearance for most games this season would be good for him after a nightmare few seasons previously. Get some game time, look for a starting role elsewhere next season. It's his last chance for a trophy really too as the only clubs after him next season will be the midtable lot... This is all providing he's happy as a backup player and the odd cup game.
So basically he's going to start trying now that his contract (and any future contracts, both us and elsewhere) is on the line. There's a reason he and the fans don't connect.
A little harsh? he did try to go to west.brom.to get in England team and still couldnt.manage it. unlike kewell. sadly.he won't last a.month imo
He went to West Brom, when did he try? Played 10mins and got 'injured' Sturridge and Kewell have/had both been at the club for roughly a similar amounts of time and have similar amounts of games for us. So where's a the moral high ground on Sturridge. Both are equally ****ing lightweights. My point is that will his 'injuries' be less now that he knows he needs to win a contract (wherever) Sorry got no time for him. Wont be lamenting when he ****s off next summer.
Yeah but his objective was to go.to.world.cup no? so he had to play so he failed.in that suggesting it's not merely laying about. I'm willing to bet.he just won't be able to stay fit irrespective.of.need for a contract.
Lets be honest, he was never going to make the WC squad. He's too injury prone and was behind about 4 or 5 other players. I think the only reasons he's still with us is because no other club is stupid enough to give him a permanent contract.
maybe not. i wouldnt have taken him as manager and neither would you but.if he didn't try we'd be critical too. I just think within a month he will.be injured again.
I don't think any player wants to sit and rot away in the reserves, especially Sturridge who's an arrogant sod and has undoubted belief in his ability. He's not helped himself by not wanting to lower his wage demands, but we've not helped him by lowering our valuation either. He went to West Brom to play (a big step down in quality, expectation and challenge) but got another injury. He wants to play, wants to score, wants to be the 'top guy' and he wanted to go the world cup. I It's not laziness or bad attitude or anything similar imo that causes him to sit out. Like we've all been saying for years now, it's probably more mental than physical now, but I do feel for the guy. He needs support to get over whatever his issues are.
Pass. He's a multi-millionaire. No time for sentiment and we're passed that stage now. As to the valuation, how do we know. No-one has made a bid. Pretty sure in the last couple of years the club would have accepted a low bid for him, just to clear his wages. I don't think he's done much to find a new club, West Brom only took him because they were absolutely desperate to try anything to save themselves.
Studge has looked sharp pre season. If he can continue that more than happy to keep him this season. Yeah injuries are an issue and if someone comes in wth silly offer then sure listen to it and move him on. But look at it this way. We’re unlikely to shift him so I’d rather have him available as back up than Origi Ings and solanke. Theres no doubting tjat in front of goal the guy can still put the ball away and he gives us different option. If he does well, and wants to stay next year then a new reduced contract wouldn’t be terrible. If he then wants to move then fair enough, can’t moan at him for that.
Millionaires suffer from mental issues too and need support. It's not sentiment, it's looking at what we have. I'd rather be bringing on Sturridge for 15minutes needing a goal than Origi or Solanke. He's in the same boat as Markovic; Interested clubs but we've wanted too much and put them off (plus his high wages). The only reason we still have them on our books. It's ironic really given the problems with the Fekir medical causing us to want a reduced fee, whilst we refuse to drop our valuation for our injured crock. Anyway.
