Bit of a PR blunder if you ask me that they haven’t even put it on pre order yet, everyone is going to be skint soon with the kids finishing for summer and going on holidays etc...
I think they said that it wouldn't be available until the end of September which is annoying really as I wanted it for Anfield
Agree, and all I got was a song in my head that I could not get rid of for a week. Now I know where Redmond got his passing side ways and backwards from; the England U21's.
Or as Mark Hughes said to Chaz yesterday....You did well today....(pause)….you actually scored a goal.
I can't believe they are doing this again The exact same model as last season. Show our strikers banging them in from all angles against cones and Forster "READY FOR THE WEEKEND" to then go and be utter **** in the real game missing everything and looking like they had won a competition to be there.
Also providing filler for the weeks until the season starts...keeping us occupied so we don't get up to mischief. I can remember when we heard little from the preseason camps and people would moan about it. It's called getting us involved....I would feel more involved if they took me to France for a week.
Not especially. I see a lot of people are saying we have had a really good window so far in terms of addressing needs, I don't really buy into that. We have bought a centre mid which was probably our strongest position anyway, an attacking player to replace statistically our most creative player, a centre back and a keeper. I am happy with Gunn as I have said we should be looking at a young keeper to push McCarthy/replace him if he turns out not to be that good. Vestergaard wouldn't have been my choice for the centre back, but I am happy we have signed one, I just hope he isn't a complete donkey like I have a feeling he might be. Armstrong I like the look of, but just don't think it is a position that really need addressing when there are more pressing concerns. Elyounoussi has a lot on his shoulders as we couldn't create much last year. I am not massively bothered by Tadic going as with the size of the squad we were always going to be operating a one in one out policy and despite being "our most creative player" he still wasn't all that creative. Whether that is his fault or the strikers fault or manager is an entirely different debate, but I am happy to try something new with different players. I think if we don't sign at least one more attacking player we are going to struggle, ideally 2 (a striker and an attacking mid). But in this league everyone outside the top 6 is struggling points wise until about 5/6 games left of the season so it really is fine margins. As you say though, I am always pessimistic with Saints so what do I know
I think that the main reason that we never created much last season was because that we had an ultra conservative and cautious Manager who set his team up to not be caught by a counter attack at all times, therefore our attacks were rigid, painfully slow and ultimately predictable and very easy to defend and usually ended with a cross coming in from deeper positions. My own view is that we have a mid-table squad that massively underperfomed under Pellegrino but we will have to wait and see.
I agree to an extent, but we also looked pretty toothless under Puel. Whether that is because we had 2 back to back complete clueless managers who somehow conned their way into a PL job is one answer. Or it could be that the attacking players weren't that great. I agree that the squad on paper is better than a few others, but as I said the difference between 7th and relegation isn't all that much nowadays so you don't need to massively under perform to find yourselves in trouble. With the amount of money sloshing around the PL the majority of teams have some big name players on big money. OK the gap between the top teams and the rest is arguably the biggest it has ever been, but 95% of the teams from 7th to 20th are much of a muchness.
