Technically Beardsley was bought from Carlisle not developed. Waddle was bought when he was 19 or 20 yo and not an academy product and no-one but no-one showed Gazza how to play. The latter part of the post I agree with.
So under Pardew - and his EIGHT year deal - the current fat ****tard spent what, exactly, on the academy? Too much research required again?
Of course, he'll go AWOL on the post for a while then carry on as if it was never mentioned. A proper WUM is Teflon to facts or valid points, the real test is over whether he can truly ignore it; I have faith in him and believe he can.
I agree it's totally ridiculous how useless our academy is but if a football club doesn't have a youth academy we may as well all jack it in. I'd be furious.
I think it would be practical to have a youth team up to U17 or U18, then if they can't make it on loan at another club, they are released. Effectively using other clubs to service any young talent. 1st team football in the lower leagues seems to be better for players than spending their time in the U21s. I can't think of many players that have benefited from staying at a club rather than spending the time on loan.

This shows how far we are falling behind in Training Facilities etc: https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...wcastle-united-must-improve-training-14841421 Newcastle United must improve their training ground facilities to avoid a future costly catch-up The Magpies' training facilities are drastically below some of their Premier League counterparts and things most improve at Benton However you can't blame Mike for not upgrading the training facilities when Rafa won't sign his new contract .................................. said a certain poster.
