Always liked Krul - be happy to have him as our keeper this term although Remi would be fine as far as I am concerned.
There might be a problem with the Krul rumour as the Pink'un acknowledges the source: "HITC Sport report that City are on the verge of bringing in the Dutchman, as Daniel Farke looks to fill the gloves vacated by Manchester City loanee Angus Gunn, who was a Championship ever-present last season." It might still happen, but I'll wait for a more reliable source before getting too excited. It would certainly be a good signing, though his wages must be quite high.

The Shields Gazette adds: "Norwich have tabled a two-year deal, and Krul, set for a medical at the club, could complete the move in the next 24 hours." Neither of those were mentioned in the original HITC article, so it's beginning to look a little more likely. He must have taken a pay cut at Brighton, and that would have to drop further for the Championship so the wages should be manageable, given that he'd come on a free transfer.

I have to agree that this is a good signing but I am really gutted for Remi, I just hope he's happy as backup.
Wow. Genuinely impressed by Krul, but a little worried what wages he would get. He's a class, and experienced keeper though. Sad for Remi, he must have worried them too much with him performances.
I’m going to remain cautious about Krul signing, he has been a great keeper but to my knowledge he aed very little football since leaving Newcastle over the last couple of years
I hope Remi will opt to go somewhere on loan instead, or put in a transfer request. Edit - as Krul is on a free transfer, even if he's on £20K per week, that's a SHREWD bit of business!!! #SWstrikesagain
Although some people prematurely got their pitchforks out for Remi, Krul would be a great signing with bags of experience.
It's not a case of getting pitchforks out. I personally would love to see all of our youth team come through the ranks and play for the first team. Some make it most don't, more importantly we need to see the team win games and avoid relegation or even make the play offs. Remi is still young enough to fight for the number 1 spot and may one day become a Norwich legend. I would be much more confident with Krul in the side starting the new season and it would be an amazing signing on a free.
Hope we do sign Krul, think he used to be quite good in his Newcastle days, and as keepers tend to have a longer life span than outfield players due to not having to do as much running, etc think it would be a good signing. I would therefore make Remi Matthews my no.2 keeper as he is one for the future and needs the odd championship game or 2 to get used to this level and to be able to prove he can do it at a higher level than league 1. Although Gunn had a good season for us last season, we never got to see what any of our other keepers could do at this level due to (I think) some sort of premier league ruling with keepers being loaned to lower league sides having to be played week in, week out
He'd possibly be best signing on the window. I really hope the Besiktas rumour is just that. That kind of rumour shows his quality. I'm surprised someone like Warnock has not tried to take him to Cardiff. Fulham, Huddersfield. Anyone like that I think he'd be prime for.
