Good call Rick. Much as many of us thought (me included) that all was lost with the missing millions, this could well exceed our expectations.
Have to say I'm feeling more optimistic this year than last. We'll see.
I certainly intend to go to a few games.

Joe Hart looking for a permanent deal in any league. Not sure if fans would welcome him here or he may want higher wages than we can pay him. Hard to think he is only 31 which is fairly young for a GK.

Looks from this that Passlack may not yet be the finished article at RB yet:

"Felix Passlack starts at right-back, with Ben Marshall in front of him on the wing but they switch positions several times during the first half. It is very noticeable that Felix is less comfortable in the full-back position with Farke shouting instructions to him in German, which from the manager’s mannerisms relate to his positioning. The shouts of “Felix!” then hand gestures for him to move wider or closer, forward or back come thick and fast. Ben Marshall doesn’t get the same treatment and when he assumes the right-back position, Farke’s attention drifts elsewhere."

Also, it looks like Stiepermann may become a more important player for us this season:

"There are two glorious moments in the first half: Onel Hernandez’s goal and Marco Stiepermann’s Cruyff turn. To be fair, Stiepermann has played really well in this game and may well be a surprise contender for the Birmingham game, although the large bag of ice applied to his thigh when he came off might suggest he’s carrying a niggling injury."

This squad is particularly well balanced with left sided players and Stiepermann
Could add to that. I was also impressed with his performance, having watched the whole match on a good stream.

    From GG's MFW article today:

    • Marco Stiepermann is a better midfielder than he is left-back. Pretty good in fact

Amazed how quiet things have been on the transfer front since our flurry of activity. Not even sure I've seen an HITC-calibre rumour since.

Not the rumours mean anything, nobody was suggesting Pukki before he arrived!

Don't know if Woodman has been snapped up on loan yet, but I really like what I have seen and heard of him. If we loaned him, it would be a cheap option to help our Keeper worries. If not, then I'm ok with him giving Mathews his chance.

Whichever goalie, should we eventually recruit one, must be home grown to help with that rule. Then he and ,Mathews as first and second choice allows greater flexibility in selecting the outfield 16 players. And we can look to move McGovern on.

There's been half-rumours about a BuLi 2 goalkeeper surprisingly, but certainly Matthews on the bench as homegrown does us a load of favours on the quotas.

The downside of a loan GK is that he'd be expected to play. That wasn't a problem with Gunn, but we'd need to be sure he is a likely number one keeper.

It’s rumoured that Tim Krul is to sign on a free transfer. Experienced keeper but fell out of favour at Brighton. Hopefully he will come to us ready for a long season.

Krul signs on a free. That's blown my hypothesis out of the water. McGovern must be on his way now. Surely?

I just can't see anybody paying McGovern's wages. Keeping him also means Oxborough could be loaned out for experience. I'd imagine it'll depend on who generates interest.

So, #NCFC about to sign a Dutch goalkeeper on the
hottest day of the year. A Krul Summer indeed.
