I spent the afternoon watching Leeds play, something I enjoy doing. How did you spend your afternoon, sourpuss?
Thought some of the passing and movement was outstanding at times. Unfortunately sometimes our passing was also very sloppy, particularly in our own half. Or someone would have a poor touch and present the opposition with good possession which a better side would have punished. Also our defensive weakness aerially was there for all to see. None of our midfield or attack seem particularly strong in the air so it's a team problem rather than just the defence. This is Bielsa's most pressing problem to solve and if he has watched all our games from last season it's impossible for him not to be aware of how certain teams will look to exploit that weakness. If we can somehow be coached not to concede from the high ball and sign a centre forward who can score goals we wouldn't be far off being a decent side.
Family commitments **** that I had family commitments but cancelled them and went to watch Leeds United instead You've got to get your priorities right
Leeds looked poor today, Bielsa had better be some kind of magician to turn this lot into a decent side If the master plan is to not bring in any players of quality, then the master tactician (because that's what he is right?) is our only hope Stand out players for me were Forshaw, Ayling, Phillips and Berardi, and Roberts looked lively when he came on As for the rest.....try them out of position....as far away from the field of play as possible As for their goal, it wouldn't have made any difference if we'd had more height at the back, the guy was totally unmarked Not sure what the formation was, difficult to see that from behind the goal Great support as always in the away end, but the sad thing about it is, there's almost an acceptance these days that we are ****e (in comparison to what we were, in comparison to Millwall we're fooking Barcelona ) It's almost as if all the fight's been knocked out of the fans by all the years of absolute mediocrity Yes ok it was only the third pre season friendly but I'd expect more cohesion with Stoke less than two weeks away So all in all if there are to be no quality players coming in our hopes lie solely on how good Bielsa is He'd better be a footballing genius
Shaks how you doing bud? (actually, stupid question, I know you're in the middle of a sesh, I've been reading up ) Had a bit of a break, believe it or not since I was last here had a few days in Berlin too many wallies there though so came back Is Glory still moaning?
I really have lost virtually all hope. Where is this Chelsea keeper then? Where was the other Chelsea player? WTF are they playing at??? Where are the quality signings? What has happened to Alioski and Saiz? This is not how I envisaged it was going to be with two weeks until the Stoke game. It just looks a complete ****ing shambles.
...........down to my last can as we speak. My youngest was in Berlin a few years ago, great kebabs apparently. Glad you're back on bud. Glory is a negative as ever, although he was a bit happier today because he got his leg over..
Poor performance imo! I thought KP & Forshaw were very good in our midfield Ayling is a wing-back & was our most attacking threat, could have had a hattrick, without Luke our attack would have been thoroughly poor. I thought he defended well considering all the miles he runs up & down that right flank, so much energy in that heat. Unfair criticism for Ayling I think Saiz & Alioski were awful when you consider the opposition we were up against Best players Ayling Phillips Berardi Forshaw Dallas in that order
