Good luck to him. Seemed a decent bloke, just a **** footballer for the Premier League. Hasn’t even been named in our ICC squad so that would suggest a move is imminent. Lot of youngsters included though, many usual ones expected but TJ Eyoma, George Marsh, Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman also travel (the latter two making it four keepers along with Vorm and Gazza). No Edwards, Shashoua or Griffiths which is a shame. Excited to see Oli Skipp, from the little I’ve seen he looks a really good prospect at DM. Training and possibly playing with Big Vic over the next couple weeks should be good for him. In other news, there’s a tiny snippet in the daily fail suggesting Zaha could be signed by next week, extremely unlikely in my eyes.
....or we've got nobody else? Have you seen how thin that group of players is? MP's shows no confidence in Llorente or GKN. If there's a buyer, they're gone in my book. Moussa Sissoko? He has his uses but they're not very ambitious ones for a coach talking about being brave.
Sissoko would've been a great addition to the squad if we paid something around £10-15m for him, as he's essentially a Jamie O'Hara that helps us close out games - the problem is we paid quite a bit more than that... It's telling that Onomah isn't in our squad for the US trip, which has led to a lot of 2 + 2 = part of the Grealish deal
Yep, totally agree. He's great in those situations. He may display worse finishing skills and passing in the penalty area than Raheem Sterling but last season he played enough minutes to easily justify a spot. He is 'The Closer' and if we can have capacity in the 25 for him, then I'm okay with him staying to do just that. I voted him the most improved player last season and I meant it. Llorente and GKN just don't get the minutes and need to be moved on.
No one could possibly display worse finishing skills and passing than Sterling. Sterling doesnt pass.
Like Didier Zokora against Chelsea in 2008, when either Sterling ot Sissoko are put through on goal, you know that the ball's not going in the net. It'll be a full on ****ing miracle if it does, or a mishit. On passing? It'd be close but Sterling is ****ing shocking.
Reports from the ICC USA pre-season games are that Pulisic played for Dortmund against Citeh, and ran riot. No idea of the strength of the Citeh line-ups (other than Mahrez allegedly played) .
Just heard Neil Custis, Jose Mourinho's glove puppet on The Sun, interviewed on talkSHITE. He's on the United tour of the US and the first or second thing on the agenda was Antony Martial. Custis talked for about 5 minutes and was asked a few things. Neither he, nor the presenter, nor the guest, the most boring ex-pro ever - Shaun Derry, thought that the discussion merited that Martial's agent had said his client wants to leave. Nobody raised the issue of why United were just extending the existing contract of a 22 year old? That's what you do for a 35 year old who's had an unexpectedly good good season. They banged on about how much he cost and how much talent he has but how he won't do what Mourinho wants him to do, i.e. play left back. However the fact that his agent has come out and said they couldn't reach any satisfactory agreement and he wants out , just didn't come up?
All current talk is that the Chavs are going to go for him.... Guess if they're offloading Hazard then they'll have the cash and the need for him - but why the feck he'd want to further derail his career in that den of iniquity is beyond me.
I've little trust that rumour is likely. United will want it to appear that there are loads of potential buyers to drive up the price because I just don't see him staying. His time there is done and he knows it. As you say, Chelsea's not really a place for a young player whose career is starting to drift. He needs something a bit more stable with a manager who will work with him to recapture all that promise. If he's not too fussed about anything but money, he'd be better off at United........or he'll end up as this year's Batshuayi or Morata. Chelsea will shop in Italy for value and to exploit their manager's reputation. Spurs or Bayern would be good moves for him. I'm pretty sure that I've read that he wants to stay in England but United really don't want to sell to Levy and Pochettino. It's up to Martial to make the move happen, if that's what he wants. I suspect that he'll end up in Germany, though as he doesn't seem like the sort of character to push United too much.
Feel a bit sad for Martial. You fail to get a WC medal because you were not selected since your current club neither play you, or when they do it is not in a position that utilises your strengths to the full. And then you hear that the manager of the club that had 9 players in the WC SFs, and is respected for developing young talent, is interested in signing you. Still, at least the wages he is being paid more than compensate for the above.
Him, Luke Shaw, Rashford, Pogba, Lindelof, Bailly.........none of them are producing great form at United and some are disappearing without a trace. Maybe it'll all suddenly click and United will win the PL and Mourinho will be special again..............Maybe? I've got to say that I reckon that they'll come up short again and maybe not even finish second and the angry little Portuguese bloke will continue on his current path of chucking younger players under the bus and playing yesterday's football. United would be better off without him, wouldn't they?
If anyone's wondering why there's a lack of transfer activity at the club this summer, this could explain it: No doubt Levy's far too distracted trying to get the contractors to have all hands on deck to get the stadium finished well in advance of the Liverpool game on Saturday, September 15th. There will be tons of building, electrical and gas works that will need signing off prior to letting a single member of public in so I can imagine he's working frantically to get this place ready. Must be intensely stressful.
I'm not too sure how many clubs there are now who have the will and ability to develop youth that could afford Martial. Germany seems to be the destination of choice for youngsters these days. Or there is ourselves and maybe Atletico. Do Bayern need a forward/wide man?
Christ, the official Twitter's getting insufferable with the entitled crybabies demand we sign players, with some going so far as to say we won't even qualify for the Europa League next season. That's right, the team that finished third last season won't even finish in a position to qualify for the Europa League in spite of having the exact same squad. ****ing have a word with yourselves, because the pillocks who appear on ArsenalFanTV never did and that's why they and their club are a laughing stock.
A certain group of Spurs fans react to our most successful league performances in 50+ years, a new stadium and renewed hope in their own 'special' way.......... please log in to view this image **** 'em all. Better off without the lot of them. COYS.
